Back after long absence

Posted by paxvox59 on November 3, 2008, at 16:44:03

Greetings all! I am back in the world after a long absence. I wonder how many of my old friends are still out there on the Dr. Bob pages? I surely miss the conversations I had over the years. If you recognize my posting name from 2006 and before, please DO say hello!

WOW! It's been SOOO long, Zen! U ran into a little "trouble" and my kife fell apart. I don't know how much you remember about me or my cirumstances, but I lost everything from my marriage to my job to my daughter and eventually my freedom. I went to prison for 18 months and just got out 10/31. Check the archieves to refresh your memories of me (of necessary). I always thought you to be a good friend.

I was just Paxvox without any numbers attached and began posting in late 2001. At one point, I may have been Paxvox2000 before I asked Dr. Bob to consolidate my postings. When I searched the archieves, I found quite a few listings. Right off hand, though, I cannot recall you specifically. I will see how much memory I can dig up. Thanks for dropping me a line.

Thanks mannic! Yes, I had a rough last three years but I made it out alive. I had hopes of one day returning to these forums from which I drew much love and support from kindred spirits. I was happy to see the names of a few I fondly recalled and saddened to learn that a few succombed to the ravages of this illness we share.

pax my buddy manic here, tell me when in prison did they change your meds, if so to what ?better or worse . you see in england we dont have much say in what we get, so in prison who finds the best for you or do you have to wing it, you dont have to say what you dont want buddy. manic666

Well, Manic, "they" do indeed tell us what sort of meds they will allow. That's mostly to keep expenses down. I only saw the Pdoc one time, and he was rather short with me. A lot of the medical professionals become jaded in prison work I guess. All that I could get was Remeron, which caused me to gain 40 pounds. Right now, I am still w/o insurance, and I am in the process of getting "public" health here in Virginia. It is going to take at least a month before I actually get to see a Pdoc it seems. I had to go to one of those 24- hour emergency care places just to get enough Remeron to hold me over. The doc there would not RX me any psych meds except for what I could prove I already was receiving. The whole thing is a big mess! I'm used to having excellent medical coverage as I held a Federal government job for 25 years. My, how things have changed for me! It's depressing.

Must be a very disturbing circumstance. Not fair with the meds. Love Phillipa

Well..............I guess I didn't have to do the things that GOT me there in the first place. Wow! Talk about consequences for actions! I was an addict but got charged as a "dealer". I didn't sell drugs, I USED them. Oh well.

ok buddy, remeron the fat f..king drug thats tough i only had to look at the box an put on 5lbs i soon ditched that but you had no choice. when in hospital they brought in a beatiful young girl of 21,hear dad had died 6 months before an it had just hit her, she thought he was digging his way out the front lawn grass. they put her on remeron, man it cured her an later went home. still on the med the once slim beaty had put on a lot of weight an had to beg for a change of meds so she would fit her wedding dress.it dont happen to every one. an mabye she was slimer than normal when she came in hospital with her illness but it can be a bummer.manic666

Yes, this extra weigh is depressing, I've been going through a bunch of clothing I used to be able to wear and now........... Oh my! Let's just say I'll be happy to have some Wellbutrin in a month or so (public health, so-called).
