Taming Your Gremlin

Posted by Kath on October 18, 2008, at 21:10:14

Has anyone heard of this book? Was going to post on 'Books' board, but there's not too much activity there.

I think this book is going to help me! I am really liking it.

Anything that helps me not worry is great.

Several times this evening, my mind has started to go towards worrying thoughts & I'm able to observe it happening......he's talking about the three steps in 'taming your gremlin' are:

Simply Noticing

Choosing and Playing with Options

Being in Process.

I'm just at the 'simply Noticing' stage, - have read about 36 pages so far (all today!) But I guess I have probably done "choosing" without even knowing it! I chose NOT to go into what he calls "the world of mind".

:-) I feel like there might be some hope for me to (what feels like) get my life back! To stop the constant obsessing about my son & all HIS stuff.

I've had a go at simply noticing:
(So there's an uproar in heaven, and all I (can?) do is make it worse.)

Options? Hmmmmmmm. I'd have to think.

If I had some then I could play with them.

So you have to *choose* them?

I need an immediate injection of self to do the choosing.

Then I can play.

And then you can tell me about being in process.

Hi, Kath!

When discussing books -- or movies -- you can add a link to the title at Amazon by placing the title in a double set of double quotation marks. Here's an example: "Taming Your Gremlin."

By the way, I know this is off topic, but I always wanted an AMC Gremlin. Don't have a clue why, but I still think it would be cool to have one.

:-)) I thought I'd done something wrong!! LOL

Is an AMC Gremlin a car??

My 'inner child' finds the gremlin drawings in the book scarey!! So I'm going to have to do some reassuring for her! Maybe I'll let her 'drawr' some of her own (using non-dominant-hand drawing - my little kid pops up instantly given a chance to drawr)

hugs, Kath

Thx for pointing out the double double quotes Racer.

Well, it claimed to be... ;-)

You'll notice, even before clicking that link, that it's credited as one of the world's ugliest cars. I always thought it looked kinda -- OK, so it was ugly. But in a kinda cute sort of way...
