Yeah, today is my birthday. I just feel old an am 32 today. So, maybe I have a bad attitude about it, but none of my birthdays have been special for I cannot count how long. Someone I know from online today is having surgery for a hopefully life changing procedure. SO, I hope it will be more of a birthday for her..

I know what you mean about birthdays. I consider mine a huge success if no disaster happens, and I approach the day with trepidation.
But I hope you have a happy birthday this year, and that no disasters happen, and that your friend's surgery goes smoothly.

Sorry your birthdays haven't been special. Mine never have been either-- but maybe over time, yours can become more special days. A new tradition.
Do something nice for yourself today, though.
By the way, 32 really isn't old. Don't talk yourself into that-- because from what I can see, that can only get worse...

Thanks everyone. My b-day is over now. I won't lie. It was pretty crappy and maybe some other time I will get into more detail..

I hear that you feel old. Just to give you a comparing-point - I'm 61 I don't feel old, but 61 sure feels old & to me, sound old.
But, ya know, my friend, who has had cancer numerous times (various types) says that he views each & every birthday as a gift. It's given me a different way to view them.
I often get sad on my birthday. I have to get into a certain mind-set now to get sad.
I hope all went well for your friend.
