Your opinion, scam or the real thing

Posted by TexasChic on July 25, 2008, at 22:15:24

I have a question for you guys. I came across this site about getting help receiving Social Security Benefits. They say they handle most cases on a contingency basis. I gave them some info on my background and problems at work (no names of course) and included my email to see what they would reply. But now I'm feeling kind of sceptical like its a scam of some kind. I'd like to know what some of you think about it. Here's the info I have for them:

T basically I'd call it advertising on the net. I'm on Disability and you only need a lawyer after being turned down twice I think may be once. But you're not disabled they can always find a job for a person like my Son who is blind luckily for him his was Military Service aquired. And you are passionate about working from the threads I read. Do you want disability or was it just a question? I didn't take the test. Maybe I will. Love Phillipa

Here's the report done on them, it's linked from their page by clinking on the BBB logo.

I guess we can never by 100% sure, but I don't think people intending to scam others willingly join the Better Business bureau. Looks like they have a high rating, with only 4 complaints in 3 years....

But as I said....well, who knows for sure?

Hi Texaschic,

They look legit to me though I wonder what they charge. Are you looking into them because you applied and were turned down or just for future reference?

Thanks all! No, I haven't applied or am even considering it at this time. But I got to thinking, what if my anxiety just gets worse and worse until I can't hold down a job? (Yes, that's me, worrying about things that haven't happened yet). They say there are jobs out there that people with certain disabilities would be capable of. But my question is, do these jobs pay enough to cover the rent? And I don't know, maybe buy some food? I don't think I'm an excessively materialistic person, but I think everyone should at least have a decent place to live, decent health care, quality food to eat, and maybe, just maybe, a small amount of time to relax and enjoy life. I guess I just want Star Trek world.
