A job?!

Posted by Poet on May 10, 2008, at 14:35:18

I interviewed Wednesday and Friday I got a call that he wants me to come in Monday morning to talk about hours (and as I politely said the salary.) The guy is a bit odd, but then again so am I right? It's in my field. It's close to my house. Part-time to begin with is okay as I might still be able to collect unemployment which was based on fulltime. Besides if the salary is too low I can say no way and walk out. I kind of like being in power for a change.

I hope it works out! I love odd, or at least most types of odd, in a boss.

I Got It

I worked 3 1/2 hours today and will work 16 hours or so per week total until they see how I will work out. Which will be perfect as I really need fulltime. The salary is lower than I would like especially being part time, but I knew when I said (blank would be better) his response would be "I'm sure it would be." Besides maybe the do merit raises. Wow, optimism.

Besides the office is 10 minutes from my house and with gas prices being ridiculous that's a benefit. More money and more gas mileage might not be a benefit, right?

The people seem real nice and laid back. Didn't see a psychowitch in sight. I have a small cube with a window, so I can bring in plants. I haven't had a window in years. That's a step up rght there.

Close to your home is a huge benefit. Both time wise and moneywise.

I hope you find it pleasant.

Fantastic! Being close to home is pretty huge - I used to get enormously worked up about being stuck in traffic going to and from my jobs.

Being able to bring your own greenery is wonderful :-)

I am so happy for you!
