And poor sigi trapped in the middle between kk and LL. what to do? There aren't any letters at all between KK and LL. a conundrum for sure.

I dunno-- should I be scared of kk's go-go-gadget arms?

I was in church today for an event and I flipped open Ecclesiastes at random and found this......

'And I saw all the oppressions that are practised under the sun. And behold, the tears of the oppressed, and they had no one to comfort them! On the side of the oppressors there was power, and there was no one to comfort them. And I thought the dead who are already dead more fortunate than the living who are still alive; but better than both is he who has not yet been, and has not seen the evil deeds that are done under the sun.'

I perked up at once and became quite excited.

Sigi, better watch out- this may get redirected to /Faith/

that is a lovely sentiment. But does he who does not exist then actually exist? or is it the germ of the idea that he may yet exist. At what point in existence do evil deeds begin accruing?

Are you saying that my fondness of all things Sigi is .... hey!?! what ARE you saying?!?

lol

happy mother's day, Sigi

>But does he who does not exist then actually exist?
There are those who are alive, those who have died, and those as yet unborn (so long as we can accept that the future exists. Where is Alex when we need her?)

>or is it the germ of the idea that he may yet exist. At what point in existence do evil deeds begin accruing?

Like Sergeant Schultz, I know nothing.

>Are you saying that my fondness of all things Sigi is .... hey!?! what ARE you saying

I was talking about stained glass windows in church, and wondered idly if the church would be happy to have a window with the next to last bit of the Parable of the Talents quoted
'And to him that has not, even that which he has shall be taken away'.

Oh, we have tried hard to resurrect Alex. I put in a personal plea to Dr. Bob to help blocked posters return from the other side. sigh...

I don't even know who S.S. is. Is he staatsicherheitspolizei (ss) ??

Again, I know nothing of what you are talking about. The parable of the talents. Are those golden talents? I only have pewter talents myself. I prefer the cobalt blue stained glass and was disappointed that the cathedral where I spent much of graduate school only had a few panes of cobalt blue glass.

'For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

It has always intrigued me, hoping as I do that it is about something quite mysterious (the way emotions work in and between people?) and not, as I nervously anticipate, about making the most of your abilities or (even worse) money.

I don't think one could get away making something like Hogan's Heroes these days... A comedy series about a German WWII POW camp?
