Respect or lack thereof

Posted by Toph on April 24, 2008, at 14:10:25

I asked my wife who was going to the store yesterday if she would pick up some treats for work for my birthday today. She wanted suggestions, so I told her to just pick up something that reminded her of me...

Today my co-workers are enjoying cookies that are flaky and Dum Dum pops.

Toph, you are so clever. not a dumdum in sight. Flaky... well, there was the one time that we tried to recruit you to come to a babblegettogether and you were most coy-- first making no commitment and then we are waiting with bated breath (kk with elevated breathing rate) and speculating who this celebrity toph might be. and think of what you missed.

toph rhymes with loaf? at least it does in my head.

Hi Toph,

Happy birthday. I think if I asked my husband to pick up a treat he'd get Laffy Taffy.

A sense of humor in a marriage is a very good thing.

I'm not a birthday kind of guy. I've spent a lot of money boring Ts with my sad tales of disappointment regarding childhood expectations. But yesterday was nice. I found the obligatory walker and commode in my cubicle. The incessant ribbing I was able to take as displays of affection. I shared a roast pork dinner (they remembered) with my family. And even got tickets to next season's Bear-Packer game at Lambeau (wanted tickets to the Yes concert this summer, but not a bad substitute).

What a great thing this morning when I've turned back into notsospecial Toph again to find some nice comments from my PB friends.

I strongly suggest what my son does - he celebrates his own birthday via:

Birthmonth celebrations.

He doesn't call it that - but it's pretty-well how he thinks of the whole month! (His birthday is on the 31st)

SOOOOOOOOOO may you feeling special long continue.

hugs, Kath
