Job Interview

Posted by Poet on March 26, 2008, at 19:30:37

As some of you know I was downsized last month and I base my self esteem on work so being out of work totally levels me.

My headhunter set up an interview for me on Friday afternoon and the job description and her information on the atmosphere of the company both seem to suit me. Salary is good, too. Though I realize headhunters get paid when the candidate is hired so she is only going to tell me positive stuff.

I am plan to pop Clonazepam and hope my hands don't shake too badly. I see my therapist an hour before it so that should help me be less nervous, too.

Any positive vibes are appreciated.

I know he liked me, but I have to be honest and say that I don't have the experience their ideal candidate should have, but I hope I made up for that in education and showing my intelligence, in other words i think he got the message that I can learn quickly.

He has a few more people to interview next week and hopes to send the top three to the big boss for a second interview. I'll post as I hear about where I stand which please let it be standing tall and proud. I can't slumping away in rejection shame. Yes, I worked on that possibility in therapy today.

Hey, you went through with it! That's a MAJOR accomplishment! Be proud of what you have achieved, not what may or may not come of it. If this one doesn't work out, it wasn't meant to be. But you got experience and confidence by making it through this one, which may be just the edge you need to get the job you end up getting. Don't be so hard on yourself, I for one am damn proud of you!!!!

So sorry.

Sounds like one of the other candidates had more of the qualifications.

I hope you can be strong enough to NOT feel badly about yourself because of this.

I send my support & love, Kath
