Honestly I try so hard to be supportive to others and just say hi at times and it seems I'm always getting attacked and the things can't defend myself or I'm gossiping or uncivil or something. I love this board and the posters and just want to be your friends and I'm literally trapped in the house with the surgery. My apologies to anyone I may have unknowingly hurt or offended. I know I annoy as I answer a lot of posts but I'm homebound and scared right now and this is my outlet. Help me want to get better? Please? i'm really sorry you're feeling attacked. and i really do understand how it feels to be stuck in a rut at home (boy, you start to go mad at times, don't you? i swear, i have worn my carpet out from pacing so much! and i'm paranoid i'm passing that trait on to my kid.).if there's anythign i can do to help hun, let me know, ok? do you read? sometimes just resting on the couch and reading helps, if that's what you enjoy. or hobbies. do you have any hobbies? i'm not trying to get you to leave babble or anything like that sweetie, and i hope you don't take this the wrong way, but sometimes jsut some time away form this place helps too, you know? i notice when i step away from babble for a while, then come back i find it a whole lot more enjoyable.
i really really REALLY hope that didn't come out the wrong way... sh*t, the pacing's going to start again....

You hardly EVER complain, Phillipa. And you very seldom reach out for support.
AND you're VERY often 'there for' people, even if it's a quick comment to let them know you care.
I don't know what you're referring to about the dislike thing. I've been reading the posts here on Social & haven't seen anything that leads me to think anyone dislikes you.
If people dislike others replying to alot of posts, then I'm sure they dislike me also! I tend to get compulsive & gabby when I'm on here!
Anyway, maybe you're feeling extra sensitive or vulnerable during your convalescence, which would be totally understandable if you were.
kk's ideas sound good. If you're uncomfortable though, it might be hard to do much.
Once you're feeling better, maybe you can do a 'baby-step' program about getting out. I know you go out & ride your bike, no? Anyway, I'm sure you'd get support from us if you decide to venture forth in a way that you've found hard in the past Phillipa. Angela2 said she's taking a little break, but when she comes back she might be a 'venture-forth buddy' for you. I am quite sure she mentioned being interested in that before.
I know you're appreciated Phillipa. A little while ago when there was yet more s**t happening on Admin, all kinds of folks said lots of positive things about you & it was very evident to me that you are well-liked & well-thought-of.
As I was helped to face at my first Group Therapy session, NOT EVERYONE is going to LIKE us!!!!
The leader even said that not everyone in life is going to like us & that quite possibly some people in the room at that very moment might not like me!!!! YIKES. Then she helped me face it & see that I was still alive; I was still okay....and when she asked others if they had any feedback, I found out that there were at least some people there who seemed to like me alot!!I send my love Phillipa & hope for your speedy recovery!

OK - here's my comment.
First of all, please do a reality check. That was one person (1).
As I said, in the past there's been lots of support for you & positive comments. Let's face it, you're a pivotal part of PB; very supportive of others, etc.
Ya know, when I see intentional cruelty, I wonder if some people's lives have been extremely traumatic & they have not received much kindness in their lives at all. I wonder if they're left so bitter & perhaps ill, that when they see kindness & caring involvement from someone it triggers them BIGTIME & they lash out.
Please know that you're liked & valued.

Huh? I don't read a lot of posts, but I had no idea anyone didn't like you. I always thought of you as the Queen of Psychobabble.
You're by far one the nicest and helpful people on here. I'm not just saying that to make you feel better. I'm saying because it's true.

The thing I told Deneb, I know I think Dr Bob cited me for it as saying I shouldn't have said it, but this is a place (here, Psychobabble) for people to deal with psychological issues, so you can't take people who attack or insult seriously. 9 times out of 10, they're probably the ones with the issues, not you.
This is probably the last place anyone could insult me and make me feel bad, as I wouldn't take their words seriously. IN fact I'd probably be more apt to forgive them because their anger is probably more resulting in some "issue" they have.

I have suddently realized how people are attacking you. I think its because .... this is my aspect (because you know that you where with me through bad times 4 years ago)
Sometimes, people dont react well to a non-reactive poster. They want that poster to REACT! or say something like WOW..OMG!...SERIOUS...
And i didnt know that you where in bed, from surgery. Please take care of yourself, and know im here.
Fan, also goes through hard times, many times during the day i have deal with reality. And its not nice.... (people in life)
A while back....i realized if i didnt say anything in class...people would attack me for not saying anything.....or pointing me out.
I have a fast-reacting mind, thats why im so nervous also, and miseable at times, sometimes my mind is slow-witted, and i feel dumb and lazy. Nights are always when my mind activates.
Give it some thought, i know sometimes you dont know what to say, or have an opnion, but keep your still. Know that people here know now.....you need people and contacts.
People attack me like crazy, i always have to be in defensive mode almost around the clock.

I'm new here but I do know that your answer to my first post stated "what do you think you should do"? That was not necessary in my opinion, however; I am certain that you are a nice person with problems like us all. Sorry to read that you are recovering from surgery...God speed...BTY, what do you do for a living?
