Holy crap!!

Posted by jammerlich on February 2, 2008, at 20:51:22

You might want to sit down for this.......

Jammer got off her butt and painted some cabinet doors!! Only 4, with one coat of paint on one side. The other side was already finished. So, I figure I'll stay up long enough (4 more hours) to get the second coat on them and then they'll be done and ready to hang tomorrow!!!!! Whoop!!!
That'll leave me with 5 left to do. I figure I can do one side tomorrow and the other on Monday (assuming this mini burst of energy lasts) and I'll be all finished!

It really wasn't so bad AT ALL. The worst (and most time consuming) part was rinsing the roller afterward. My friend told me she hates that part and just throws them away. But, she's the energizer bunny and can work for hours. I, on the other had, like to take little nibbles, so tossing them could get really expensive!

Anyway, just had to toot my own horn for the little thing I did today.....OOOOOHHHH, I also finalized flight ressies to go stay in the comfy bed a friend has waiting for me! DOUBLE WHOOP!!!!!!

Well, I'm not sure "day" would be accurate. It took all of half an hour. But, hey, it's more than I've done in a LONG while.

Yay! for Jammer and her butt.

The professional painters I know don't rinse their rollers. They put them in plastic bags, making sure to get all the air out of the part with the soggy roller in it. A twist tie on the metal frame above the roller, and voila! If you rinse the roller, then you have water in the nap that will dilute the paint you try to get it wet again with, unless you let the roller dry completely first.

I hope you have a wonderful visit.

Yay for your productive half hour then Jammer! ;o)
A productive half hour sounds good to me. My room is a pig sty but I can't manage a half hour to clean it up! LOL

Holy Crap: The Sequel

So, today I slept until noon (sleep schedule ALL screwed up) and pretty much wasted the whole afternoon, other than getting out to register to vote. But, things improved this evening: 4 loads of laundry (now in a pile on the spare bed), 1 load of dishes plus a full drainboard, 39 gallon bag filled with trash (can't believe I'm admitting this!!!).

It all started because I had NO clean undies. Even the ones designated as "only wear when desperate" were in the hamper (oh, who am I kidding, they were in and AROUND the hamper because my entire wardrobe was dirty and strewn around my bedroom (MY GOD, have I taken a truth serum or something!!!????) because the poor little hamper can only hold so much)). Getting one load done left me feeling like I could do another and it just progressed from there. I think bed linens and snuggly blankets are on tomorrow's tentative agenda (no pressure, ok?!).

Maybe tina will pipe in and tell all she did on a Monday. SHE was a real worker bee!!

Jammer, you're on a roll! Sometimes with this stuff, once you get started it gets a momentum of its own. Don't forget to take a break! Huge congratulations to you.

I scrubbed some mold off a wall and picked up trash (not mine) off the patio.
