I just need generic gentle hugs and warm thoughts. I spend the morning trying to breathe through a set of lungs besieged by Fluffly-Cat.
3 hours of gasping for air, lying on a couch. Without even WANTING to meditate- yet I could think of nothing other than AIR IN... AIR OUT...
and it took 4 hits of albuterol, an antihistimine (in addition to seroquel) and 2 different decongestants to open my pipes back up.
I'm exhausted. (get it?)
I made my husband promise to get the cat groomed before I see her next. (((shaved and washed Fluffly cat)))
she will look like a lioness, and I will enjoy lung capacity larger than a ziploc sandwich bag.
sorry I've been absent lately. I've been obsessed with loops of yarn and Elizabeths I and II.

Yeah, I'm allergic to the fluffly-cat.
she is awfully cute, but there's a good reason why I'm not supposed to bury my face in her smooshie tummy and take a deep breath.
next time I see her she's going to have less fluff, and she will be freshly washed and conditioned.
She luvvvsss me though, you see? purrrRRRrrrrRRRRrrr. it's hard to deny such a cutie my returned affections.

I think the answer lies in getting the cat shellacked. You just have to choose a pose you like, then dip the cat, and voila! Happy pipes!

You all are very supportive of me, but what about my poor kitty,
she will be naked and shellacked if all goes according to psycho-babbler's plans!!!!
I think I've noticed that SHE's happier too with less fur. It makes her more frisky, and she gets a lot more luvin' from her momma LlurpsieNoodle.
as for the "dip" part. I'd like to see an empirical report that this aids in allergy reduction. There are plenty of less drastic measures that might also be feasible.

What is it about cats that people are allergic to?
Isn't it just catitude? I mean its not just their "fur" is it?
Worrying about the future of the not-yet-dunked, or cornrowed, or shellacked Falufully (sp?-- forgive me Falufally ---or Falufully-- for not knowing your name; I'm not as much of a cat person as cats tend to expect).
Forgive me also Faluff if I also suggest that possibly some non-allergenic shampoo or conditioner might also be used. (?if such a thing exists?)

allergic to the protein that's in their saliva. They lick themselves all the time. the protein is sticky and tiny and once airborne will actually stick to all kinds of surfaces in the household.
fortunately it is water soluble. kitty gets wet, kitty's allergenic saliva washes off of hair. kitty is huggable again.
I'm also irritated in my nose by inhaling hair, but this is rare.
I'm also irritated on my skin by picking up and holding kitty against my chest or neck or inner arms. little welts a few moments later.
less fur = less licking = less allergy protein.
more showers = less allergy protein.
shorter fur = fewer drain clogs when rinsing kitty
shorter fur = fewer watts of power used to blow dry soaking wet terrified kitty
shorter fur = more pink belly to show through.-Ll
