Well to be brief, this person i hang out with, i have to hide that i take medication because he said you dont need that you need God, Christ.
I feel bad that i say i will then i dont, basically lied.Maybe it was my fault in the 1st place for even telling them. But thats the actual reason i have them, because they said where here to help to get off them.
We where at a resturant and everyone started to get over me like well i started telling why i feel worthless, but that i feel was the only thing i knew how to offer to people, i didnt know how to socilize. You know how people can keep track to what they are talking about, or just current issues, i cant do that with out putting up a frount.

At work i say, i said the most stupidest thing, Emily a co-worker i work with said....i had a dream about you last....
....I said was i eating cotton candy? I had no clue what she ment at first. ROFL
She was drinking Dr-pepper, i just stared at her, she was "dont worry i know you like to see me drink things" I mean just crazy crap.
At work i am very load but not with relating, transitioning, ill just be like "so anyways"
Very random in conversations, i have nick names for all the people i work with.
Psychostimulants are the only things that have helped me socilize fine, because i have bad ADHD, i never even know or relate what people are talking about, worse in class. I am not on any right now.
I am on medicaiton because emotional pain, distress, many causes. Going off it is going to be hard.
I need someone here to me out.

You don't have to tell anyone you take meds. That is something only you and your pdoc need discuss. Love Phillipa

Are you sure you need meds? What I'm saying is...if you want to try life w/o meds, or think you can, maybe you should. And...try not to medicate yourself to be "normal"; it just isn't worth it. Whatever you decide...best of luck to you.

I agree with Phillipa, and wish to add, a lot of people who have no experience with meds are against them for one reason or another. Many do not understand the biological component of depression, don't understand antidepressents are not the same as getting high, think they are a character weakness, whatever. Alll kinds of reasons. You wouldn't tell a diabetic to snap out of it and pull themselves up by their bootstraps!

I agree with Phillipa, your medication is your business; sure, we all discuss our psych meds on here, but we choose to.You have the power of who you want to disclose personal information to. I made that mistake at work.
My boss asked if I was okay because I seemed 'out of it'.... So, thinking I could trust my BOSS, (see the HIPAA act of 1996...) I told her that I was just put on Lamictal and that my xanax dosage was increased.That was a mistake in a half! Now the entire office knows that I have "issues" and I fear that I am looked at as the token Office "Crazy" chick..
They new about my eating disorder (most people who know me know about that), and it really bothers me that there is a huge stigma associated with having mental illness.
When people at work researched Lamictal and saw its uses, they, by deductive reasoning concluded that I must be bipolar because they know I am not epileptic.
Now I'm looked at differently by staff.I was embarresed at first, but when I began to think about it, if I were diabetic or had cancer and were taking meds for that, nobody would blink an eye.
All in all, it's your friends that have the problem, not you. You are doing something to help yourself, and if they can't understand that, than who needs them?

Amen. The stigma of mental illness and meds is alive and well in our society. For your Christian friends: did God create everything? (if He didn't, he isn't all-powerful). So He created meds, right? Why do you think He created meds, so people could avoid them? Or the better answer people have written in this thread, but in more direct terms, "I don't think you understand anything about this matter. Maybe you should let my doc and me figure it out. I'll do the same for you someday, if necessary"
