No sleep

Posted by ClearSkies on August 6, 2006, at 0:22:48

Miserable and awake. I owe babblemails, emails, telephone calls. None of that happening anytime soon. Monday I'm going away again, for another holiday. I should be pleased that I get to travel so much, but I don't care right now.

Funny how all the contentment and happiness vanishes like it was never there. Really funny. I read some of my positive posts and wonder who that person was. This is such a distorted state of mind that I can barely remember being happy. I hate this hate this hate this. So awful to see the spiral happening, spinning down right in front of me, powerless to stop it. The whole fake it til you make it isn't working for me.

I think I'm going to change my name back, maybe to PC or Rainyday.

How much sleep do you get?

6 hours is wonderful for me. I have got in to this weird sleep pattern, going to bed early and waking up before 3am.
By sunrise I'm unrested. Nobody understands why this happens.

It happens more as you get older and no doubt means you are buggered, in some department, somewhere, somehow.
One day they will understand it, but not in our lifetimes.

The only humane sleeps are delivered by addictive drugs.

What to do? My trendy doctor is talking about glucose, cortisol and insulin, then there's the HPA axis thingo, then there's excitotoxicity.

It's been continuous for the last 10 years.

I would sleep my life away if I could...
Part of my avoidance, I guess.
I'll happily sleep for 12 or 13 hours.
Though sometimes I'll be a little grumpy ;-)
Need around 8 hours to feel okay.
Have trouble with a good sleep / wake schedule.
I know it affects my mood...
But have hypnogogic phenomena...
Makes it hard to get to sleep...
And lying in a half sleep half awake paralysis in the mornings...

Hope you get some sleep PC.

Wuv you ((((((((((((pc))))))))))))

partlycloudy and clearskies are one and the same??

confused!

well, whoever you are, im sending you some zzzs. rest well, and hug a teddy bear or a kitty cat or a puppy. get some tryptophan from some warm milk before bed, and perhaps a warm bath.

sorry youre feeling so lousy. the way you are right now will pass. it may seem inevitable and interminable that youll feel this way forever, but, sometimes it just evaporates, like fog on a hot day.

hope your sun comes out soon. zzzzzz

I was reading Peter Kramer's book "Against Depression". I haven't gotten far in it, but it seems to deal with the same idea. About depression and how it lies. Not a new idea, certainly, but I always appreciate his style of writing.

This too shall pass, and one day you'll awaken and see all the possibilities that you saw in your happier posts. Maybe you could fold up some of them in your purse to remind you of that on those occasions you are tricked by depression into forgetting.

Since I stopped taking Ambien (I was on it for 2 years) my sleeping pattern has been messed up. I take Vistaril but I am groggy the next day, to the point of sometimes going right back to bed after having coffee in the morning.

I seem to do best on 8 1/2 consequetive hours of sleep a night.

ClearSkies is my third posting name. I started out as Rainyday, then became PartlyCloudy, and am presently ClearSkies. Supposedly following improvements in my personal weather. Have been very low for a while now and certainly don't feel like Clear anything.

I have some posts (by myself and others) bookmarked as reminders of how much better I can feel. It's like looking out through a tunnel and all you can see through is a little bit of light at the end, and everything else is unseen.

Honey, I'm so sorry you're feeling so overcast right now. Your smile is very sunny when you share it, and I'd rather think of you smiling. I know things have been rough for you, though, lately. [emulates a Hoover] I'm sorry.

You know what, though? If I had a magic wand, I'd set it to allow you to see yourself through my eyes. Maybe that would cheer you -- show you a beautiful, charming, and very interesting woman. I think you'd like her. I know I do.

No cyber hugs from me, you know. Can you just extrapolate from the real hugs? :-)

Me too but that hasn't happened in years. Four hours and I'm awake to repeat my valium. Have no choice. I've tried everything for sleep except being hit in the head with a baseball bat . Love Phillipa

I'm Back! And I'm worse than ever.
I mean, I'm badder than ever.
Right?
