saw “Prairie Home Companion”

Posted by pseudoname on June 22, 2006, at 18:28:10

I saw the “A Prairie Home Companion” movie yesterday. Despite Richard Roeper's thumbs-down, I enjoyed it. But then, I listen to the radio show and he doesn't. And maybe it was the mood I've been in lately (quite upbeat).

I liked the photography, the backstage stuff, etc. I liked the angel of death. She does favors. Who knew.

I saw the show live once, back when it was in I think the World Theatre? Somewhere else, anyway. Somewhere bigger, it seemed.

pseudo,
I love how you always give us radioshow advice. I wish I listened to NPR more. Now that I take the bus everywhere, or my bike, I never seem to listen to the radio at all. I miss it.

Thanks for the movie recomendation. Were the men good looking, the women strong and the children above average?

;)

Hi, ll. (Which I pronounce "llll", not "el el".)

I envy you your public transportation. If I could get rid of my car, I certainly would. I can and do walk to most needful places (grocery, bank, post office, library, hardware, etc), but at least once a week I have to go further afield. We have zero public transport here, not even taxi cabs.

When I used to live in Chicago, I loved riding the train & bus. I got so much reading & writing & thinking done. You just can't do that while driving. Plus you get to talk to nice people sometimes.

I'm afraid to ride a bike because of the traffic.
