Hugs for those who find Father's Day hard

Posted by Kath on June 18, 2006, at 10:30:05

I am fortunate in that I don't find it hard, but I'm sending out warm & supporting thoughts for those who do find it hard.

luv, Kath

Thanks! That's very nice of you!
I do find it hard. I haven't spoken to my father for 8 years now. I try not to think about it, almost forgot today was Fathers Day. Still feel sh*t today, now I know why... Strange how you unconsiously feel these things...

Big Hug back!

It is really hard actually. It sucks in fact. It's been 17 years (since he left for good). There was however a meeting I had with him a few years ago, and he didn't even ask me how I'd been, and my mother could not for the life of her understand why I was upset (It was not the lack of the question, although it is telling, but the simple stress of the situation). I found myself completely alone AGAIN in the presence of both my parents, and so.....yeah it can really suck.
Thanks for the thought. :-)
