Whats your Myers Brigg personality profile thingy?

Posted by Meri-Tuuli on June 3, 2006, at 9:52:54

I'm an INTP.

In the previous thread someone mentioned it.

I used to be a INTJ, but for some reason I've changed.

If you want to do it yourself, here's a site:

Kind regards

Meri

INFP - link between MBTI mental illness??

I did mine last september. Caused a little personality crisis, as I went through different types during the day. The test wasn't very clear for me. Apperently I'm a dreamer, and in the test came up more with what I would like to be rather than what I am. There's also a big difference between own & learnt behaviour. In general your personality type doesn't change during your life, but through learnt behaviour you can appear to have changed. I figured mine out by reading several descriptions of personality types, and this 1 comes closest to me.

Does anyone know if there's a link between certain mental conditions, and MBTI? I was thinking about it last night...

I'm INFP, but I'm only "mild" in each of these directions. Does this mean I'm bland? Does this mean I have no personality? I better talk with a psychologist about this stuff... oh wait- nevermind.

No ll, it does not mean you are bland, or lack personality!
There could be a few reasons:
-I am INFP, and it took me a bit more effort to figure it out than most others on the course. Apparently we are dreamers, and in test tend to imagine what we would like to be, or what we admire in others.
-MBTI refers to YOUR personality, but as you get older you'll find a lot of learnt behaviour. Example, I am very intravert, but have learnt to adapt an extravert side to prevent complete isolation. I quite like this side as well, although it costs me a lot of energy to force it on. As you get older, you get better at this, and your intravert side may appear to be less strong (how old are you??)
-I can imagine certain mental illnesses have a effect on it too. In case of bipolar (easy example), when manic someone might be a lot more extravert than when depressed. So in a lot of questions, the answer would be: depends on the mood! iso just yes or no.

Have you read the profile? Does it fit you?

Did you do the internet test? If you want more clarity, perhaps you psychologist can give you a more professional/detailed test.

I am an INFP all the way.

Good question! To me the INFP type sounds like it could be prone to Inattentive ADD/ Depression. There could be other psychiatric correlates to other MBTI types, maybe. I wonder about this too.
