It's a riddle to me, me precious

Posted by Glydin on March 13, 2006, at 17:44:56

When things have been nasty for me, I can become apathatic in terms of reactions to life, situations, etc. Taking apathy to mean a lack of interest, concern, emotion - spelling impassiveness and indifference. However, this seemingly noncontrollable thought process for outside circumstances DOES bother me when it's happening. So, I'm not indifferent to not liking feeling that way. So, is it TRUE apathy?

I'm doing well now but it's a question that is interesting to me.

Apathy means the same to me. Is something going on? Love Phillipa

I'm fine. I was bored today and that question just came into my mind again. To me, it's an interesting concept to consider. It's as if it's a contradiction - Caring about NOT caring thus being UNapathetic about being apathetic.....

I'm depressed and apathetic right now, and I hate it, it really makes me sad to not have any interest, so I assume what you're talking about it what I perceive to be apathy.

Glad it's just a question for you right now, and not a feeling.

Thank you, fw. Yes, it was just a curious question for me and gratefully, I'm not experiencing those feelings right now. I'm sorry you are and I hope you feel better soon.
