Are you a Putterer, just thinking out loud

Posted by Susan47 on January 13, 2006, at 12:54:25

Is there such a word? I love to putter, I just realized that banging nails into walls and finding new ways to arrange things and just doing the dishes or working a puzzle.. you know, the simple stuff that you can get lost in, is really soothing and I'm kind of getting a bit addicted to it. But I just started up a new business I should be working on, and anxiety and restlessness are kind of a problem .. anybody have any ideas? I see my p-doc today and will ask him, as Dinah suggested, about something with a mild tranquilizing effect .. but I already take pnt 200 which is a milk peptide and a valium substitute so .. maybe I'll take one right now. Or not, maybe I'll putter first and THEN take one ...

I can easily putter the day away with out realising it. It's so easy to do. Maybe you could try making up a daily schedual for yourself, but leave time between things to putter , or do nothing or whatever you want... if you're into something then keep going.

Good luck with the pdoc

Putter is something a golfer uses, also a word grandma uses when talking about what she is doing for hours in the kitchen. I do it, usually 'puttering' around the internet or anywhere else except where I need to be at or what I need to do. Sometimes puttering helps me think freely about whatever by keeping me physically busy while mentally bored. Sometimes I catch myself puttering when there is something that I must do but am avoiding for some undetermined, and often unconscious reason. Since I don't golf I never 'putter' there...

It's the trademarked (oops) name of a bioactive milk-derived peptide which has an affinity to some GABA receptors .. it produces a lovely feeling of relaxation.
