Adam Sandler's brilliant.

I love John Travolta (Much to the amusement of others)

Christina Ricci (not my favorite) but she portrayed her part well in 'Prozac Nation'.

Sabrina

I love Wynona Ryder and Gwyneth Paltrow. Although I think Shirley McClain is the most brilliant actress ever.

I love Anthony Hopkins- he's a genius actor.

I used to like Tom Cruise until he opened his mouth.

Hmm hard one.

Of the current crop Sean Penn (best actor of his generation) and probably Anthony Hopkins. All time: Gregory Peck and James Stewart

Of the ladies, curiously Robin Wright Penn and Cate Blanchett. All time probably Greer Garson and Deborah Kerr

I'd just like to plug the double double quotes feature at this site:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#amazon

The first time anyone refers to a book, movie, or music without using this option, I post this to try to make sure he or she at least knows about it. It's just an option, though, and doesn't *have* to be used. If people *choose* not to use it, I'd be interested why not, but I'd like that redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration:

Thanks!

I'm really taken with Tobey Maguire as an actor. His turns in "The Cider House Rules" and "Wonder Boys" are remarkable. He projects this imperturbable outside status while seeming incredibly cool at the same time. Just takes the world's implacable weirdness in stride. As far as actresses go, I've been smitten with Scarlett Johannson ever since "Lost in Translation." (And she was only bloody 19 when she made that film!) If you're talking about classic actors and actresses, I'd have to go for Gregory Peck playing my namesake in "To Kill a Mockingbird". The ultimate movie hero, and he never throws a punch or blows anything up. Jesus, wish he'd been my dad. In terms of actresses, it would probably be Lauren Bacall in "To Have and Have Not". Amazingly, like Johnnson, she was only 19 when she played this role, though her smouldering sexuality would seem to indicate otherwise. No wonder Bogie was smitten for life. Atticus
