do you have to develop fear to succeed?

Posted by rjlockhart98 on August 29, 2005, at 21:55:08

Setting Goals for me in the past has turned into disasters, because i just blew it off and said it will be ok.

No, it will not be alright. I have developed a fear when i have thoughts sinking, failure, which i didnt pay attention to in the past.

Confidence happens when achivement is seen in yourself, but for me how to get there right now is fear, being on the edge, thinking what i am going to do next. My grades before have slipped because i let it happen.

I feel i need to have fear now when EVER i start slipping, i will need to react.

Thats my put. I dont know whats to come. I just hope everything will be alright.

Hold on to your life.

Matt

It is better to try and then fail than never try at all. Not trying is when we fail. What exactly are you afraid of? I saw a thread that you wrote about your dad. Are you afraid that you will be a failure to your dad? If so, quit worrying. You have nothing to prove to him.

What do you want to major in? Are you sure that you want stay in that major? Do what you want, not what you think the people around you want.

Matt, What do you want to be. Just because your Dad is a lawyer doesn't mean you need to follow the same path. Follow your heart. Fondly, Phillipa

Matt, I went to college the first time to get a degree in sociology. I was supposed to get a master's degree and do counseling. Later I went back to school to be a teacher.

You are young. What you are going to school for is not set in stone. Follow your dreams, and if your dreams change then change with them.

Matt, You don't have to make a decision now. Just take the basics and as you learn you'll find out what you're good at and enjoy. Fondly, Phillipa

MAtt

Try to enjoy college for now. You will keep changing and your interests will fluctuate. Try to have fun and things will fall into place.
