Sebastian, do you have anyone who depends on you like a child or something?

I say go for your dreams. My first degree is in Sociology. I once was a counselor (the irony in that is funny). I went back to school to be a teacher. I love it. Wouldn't want to do anything else. Life is too short to be miserable with what you do for a living.

If you are healthy enough to be a truck driver then go for it.

It is very hard to quit smoking. I quit about 8 months ago. Are you sure that you want to continue the habit?

Just a thought --- Pray about your decision. You will be satisfied in your career if you know that God wants you there

Peace,
Lynn

If truck driver's can't smoke, than I need the number to the "tell on the smoking truck driver hotline" becuase I live a few miles down from the truck stop and they ALL smoke. ROFL

I won't even go in there for a coke because I come out smelling like a bar during Happy Hour. LOL

Anyway, my uncle drives truck and he loves it. He always has. I think the question would be if you would enjoy it.

I think I'd go bonkers trapped up in a vehicle all day-- I love interacting with people but everyone is different.

Just promise me, if you become a truck driver, you won't be one of the ones' that honks his horn when the blonde girl drives by.. okay?? ROFL

Spriggy be careful what you wear when you go by a truck driver. They can see everything. I once was married to one and it was his dream. And he also smoked and enjoyed the sites in the cars! Fondly, Phillipa

If you are in the U.S.A and want to drive a truck otr (over the road)You will be regulated by the D.O.T ( dept. of transport) who will make sure that you are drug tested regulary and have a medical card that proves that you are physically qualified. Your prospective employer is required by law to conduct a 10 year background check (including criminal and previous drug tests). You will be required to file a log sheet everyday including weekends and when your on vacation. You will be fined and put out of service if the D.O.T ever catches you driving for more than 11 hours in any 24hour period. I know all about this stuff as i own a trucking company and spend most of my life on the road. I also used to work for the D.O.T.
It doesnt come with all the freedom that it used to years ago but i still prefer to spend my working days alone in my truck and getting paid to see America!
If you get lonely and bored by yourself all the time then it aint the right job for you. Truckers are in huge demand in the U.S and the money is pretty good if you put in the time.

Okay, so I've had a few glasses of wine and am acting a little loopy. Ignore me.

But I am blonde and I do like pot.

Not that I'm bragging about that. Its just a nice escape.

No, and no scanner yet either. I'm 35, but everyone thinks I look 25. I'm not bragging (well maybe a little) its really the truth. I have to admit I'm heavier than I've ever been before (since I quit smoking), but I still get hit on enough to not feel too bad about it - especially by certain ethinticities. Not that I mind, I don't really see in color that way. Its more shades of gray (or brown, to be more specific). I'm working on the weight thing though. If I can be brutally honest, when I was skinnier, I think I was considered pretty hot. Unfortunately I was way too shy to take advantage of it. Now I just figure that people can like me for the way I am or take a hike (to put it nicely).

I used to be bigger. Now I've lost most of the weight, and consider myself good looking again. My only fall back is that I'm incredibly shy and it's a new thing. Do you take wellbutrin? I take it and it helps me smoke less, much less, and I havent put on weight because of it. How much do you weigh? How tall? I was interested in a 35 year old recently. You must have looks? What is your ethnicity? I'm white as a ghost, sun burns.
