I was 14. I'd been dating my boyfriend for eight months. It took us six months to get around to holding hands, and then another two months before we kissed! It was quite romantic, if I recall...

That asterisk represents an 's', right? Otherwise I want to know more about those hormones...

I was 15, and it was with a boyfriend who was a complete bastard. I'm kind of annoyed that I wasted my first kiss on him.

A few years later I got kissed by my now-fiance, which was much more passionate. And then he immediately moved in for another one. :-)

...yes it was an 's'. Guess I won't be writing it quite like that again...hmmm...funny, I usually remove the second letter...?

Just trying to be extra-civil, but I forgot about the extra-dirty minds here...;-)

I think it was 17 or 18..probably 18 (nm)

As an ex-social phobia sufferer, kissing is difficult. I prefer to have sex without kissing! Even when I've had a lot to drink, I don't like kissing... and alcohol boosts my generally (low) libido.

It's funny cause I can picture somebody trying to kiss you, and you running away. Don't worry, simple humour.

I don't find anything specifically appealing about a kiss. Although I cannot say for sure.

I am very figity around people. I usually retract when people touch me.

My mom was sick when I was young, I didn't get handled a lot.

Yeah, I don't always like being touched either.... but sometimes I do.

and it was a strange situation, she was a friend who'd become interested in me while I was obsessed with someone else. I liked being kissed but I was passive about it as I wasn't really with the one I wanted.

I always look on it with regret, softened only by reminding myself that I can't expect myself to have handled the situation as I would, in retrospect, have liked to given my inexperience at that age

12-too young, I hated boys then, but it was sort of a peer pressure thing

I didn't enjoy it until I was 17. :-)

hi Philippa,

don't forget there are social phobics here. I had panic attacks at parties at 12, and to this day do not like to be around large groups of people.

I was in grade school believe it or not. I met my "boyfriend" in a quiet secluded place so we could kiss. He gave me a peck of a kiss and then I said something to the effect of "no, like in the movies" and then I grabbed him and started making out with him. ROFL

Do you think kissing is something you enjoy more as you get older? When I was younger I was always worrying if I was doing it right, and never enjoyed it. Now I worry much less about it. Rapidly approaching death helps, sounds melodramatic, but the sense of time changes.
