I am so glad I missed all this!

Posted by partlycloudy on July 21, 2005, at 20:33:38

Wow! Real zingers of posts and stuff getting flung left and right, the aftermath on Admin looks like a food fight. Dinah, our Champion, has once again protected us babblers from the Blue Meanies of the internet. Hurray!!

I would have jumped right into the fray and posted something incredibly stupid and get banned again. Instead I was blissfully unawares, zonked out on Tylenol 3 on the sofa and finding it hard to understand how someone could willing take a substance that's basically like putting a virtual plug in your plumbing.

My kitty, Psycho knew her mum wasn't at her best and she pressed her enormous furry length on me, in 91 degree heat. She really loves me and she's really without a clue.

oh, yes, it's just a nasty root canal that's been lurking for a long time. The tooth announced its presence while I was on vacation. I had the root canal on Monday, so Tuesday I was still pretty whacked out. Today I was able to pretend I was human and I went to the p-doc AND for groceries.
All this in my new bifocals, so I was sure I was going to either fall down or puke, or both, while shopping. Shuffling my feet helped, as did stopping to regroup instead of whizzing past shelves. That just about did me in.

Oh goodness! Your poor little mouth has gone through such an ordeal, and the wanting to puke and shuffling about! Can you eat??

LOL! I've been eating on the other side of my mouth for years now, that tooth has been so fragile. At least I hope to be able to use both sides again so they can continue to rot and crumble at the same rate again.
I'm really glad it stopped hurting today. I am a real wuss, so it was fine by me to lose a day or two in a painfree stupor.
Back to my regular self in no time!

Isn't that funny about cats? My MonsterCat doesn't like to get too hot, so he actually stays away if I'm feverish or it's too hot outside, and my Freakazoid doesn't cuddle at all, but my late Siamese used to make a beeline for me when I had a fever -- I'd cry, because he was so hot, and I was so miserable. Nonetheless, every time I had a fever -- I also had a Siamese cat draped across my neck, purring and probably drooling a bit...

I'm glad you didn't get yourself in trouble on Admin, and I hope your tooth heals up as well and as fast as possible.

I'm still waiting to see if I'm blocked. But I apoligized right away? Do you think Dr. Bob will take this into consideration? And I too stumbled around with bifocals than last year I had Lasik Surgery. Now I only need glasses to read. Problem is now I can see every tiny speck of dust and all my imperfections. I don't know which was worse! Fondly, Phillipa

Girlfriend, I feel your pain. I had my wisdom teeth out when I was 17 and I was on Vicadin. I thought I would never go po*p again!!!!

Just thought you all might want to know. ;-)

After a few days I decided I couldn't do bifocals. In addition to the dizziness, there was the restricted vision.

So now I have long distance glasses and reading glasses. The funny thing is the reading glasses have me seeing just fine at a distance! The other trouble is I'm having trouble reading with them again. I guess once you reach ahem... a certain age, you just have to keep going to get an eye exam every year if you want to avoid squint furrows.

The grocery store has been the biggest challenge by far, all that looking up and down has been making me feel green. Driving is easier with these new glasses, plus I have those "Transitions" lenses that darken and lighten and make me feel like I'm living in the future already, just like the commercial. Except I don't look like any of the people in them.
My husband said they make me look smarter. That's all I needed to hear! Vanity works in strange ways. Some people want slimmer thighs; I want a higher IQ!!

I'd like some of both, please, but with emphasis on the former....am I greedy and/or shallow...or what?

Oh, well. I can dream.

In case anyone here isn't yet aware, PC is BOTH!

After the transitional bifocals, and the Lasik I still have the horrible deep frown line across my nose. I thought this had been caused by wearing glasses til my husband pointed out that they didn't touch my frown line! Now that I can see distances and don't need glasses that horrible squint line and furrow look horrible! At least the glasses hid them. Fondly, Phillipa
