NO LOL i was jsut kidding, but I actually am lazy as anything so I eat fruit without washing it a bit, carrots and stuff. i would think farms would require less washing than city fruit :-) I went to a farm where they had a veggie garden and they were eating it right out of the ground...eww sick
GAbbix's info has ruined my vegetable life! LOL

Of course it's your parents fault! I love gardening, that's how I met slugs. I just used to sprinkle pine needles or ground nutshells around, the slugs don't crawl over them because it hurts their tummies. I tried keeping one plant aside and saying "This one is for you guys to have for a snack, it's especially delicious! just for slugs" But they aren't good at listening really.

Well, maybe one did.

GASSSSSSP!! why yes I did.

I didnt know that...is it the skin of the fruits and veggies or the flies that prevent wrinkles LOL CAuse Id eat black flies if I had to...ok no i wouldnt... sick!!

Well I would!

No it's not the flies, goofy, in many fruits though the micronutrients which are very important for your skin are actually in the skin of the fruit.
However, unless you're buying organic, you're probably balancing things out with pesticides.

So eat pumpkin, and blueberries and Amla fruit (it's indian gooseberry) very very good for your skin, but it's SOUR, it's like biting into a non-chewable vitamin C tablet. It's not really for pleasure though, just think of it as medicine for your wrinkles, or the ones you don't want to get.

then i put it in a plastic trash bin and carried it outside to release it. Her townhouse complex has been having issues with roof rats so i probably should have killed it but i didn't have the heart for it. Glue boards are quite popular but when they step on the board and can't get off they commonly rip their skin off trying to get away. Very gruesome. Not much stomach for that either. Guess i could have called one of her neighbors to see if they wanted to do the deed.

They have live-catch mouse traps. I use those and then let them go (away from my house) in the morning. I can't stand the blood/guts nor torturing.

Does this make you passive aggressive then? lol I don't think slugs really care what we think and I don't think they listen to us! lol :) Why can't they go to the neighboors yard, they don't have a garden.

how in the world did you,

#1. have enough interest to look up slugs on the web in the first place,

#2. keep that interest long enough to find a site that has information on them, and

#3. stay long enough on the site to find a picture of them having sex.

Just curious. I am an avid gardener myself. Have had slugs. Didn't have enough energy to do them in. I love to garden, flowers, shrubs, and trees that is. (Had enough of the heads down, b*tts up pulling weeds concept of my tiranical garden ruler father from childhood.) Which means, I love to design, plant, and water. I do NOT like to weed, I do not fertilize (I forget), and I don't do pest control. (no time, no time, I got, got, got no time) If something gets eaten it's more likely to be by the freakin cows that jump the fence. Better yet, sometimes they just simply walk through the garden and knock over trees, or at least break a few branches, leave huge 6 inch ruts, (after all they don't get out unless it wet, right?) and eat my saplings.

Hamburgers for supper, everyone's invited.

Ada, mad at the cows not the slugs, Grace

and see slugs having sex. I'm interested now. I wonder if female slugs kill their mates after sex like a praying mantis. Maybe they just lay on top of the male and smother them to death.

and Mr. Man, whome I lovingly refer to as....

Sluggo.

Not to be confused with Slugger. That would be complimentary.

Sluggo: noun
A deragatory term used to refer to someone who is innactive, a couch potato.
May also be used for lazy offsprings as well.

LOL! First of all I wasn't intentually looking up slugs. Gardenweb.com is a awesome garden site. People can post pictures of their gardens, flowers and such. Some photos are truely awesome and inspiring. But someone happen to catch these two slugs going at it, and they took photos. It is truely amazing I think. Gross, yes very gross. I truely don't have a thing for slugs, lol You make it seem like I have a slug fetish, lol Just kidding!

I grew up in the country so I now about cows! More people got killed from hitting them on the road then hitting those amish buggys.

Oh good. I was actually coming back to say I hope that sounded like a nice "I was just kidding" not an admonishment, because that's how I meant it. But I'm glad you don't think I really believed the slugs were listening.
Though I do believe fruit flies do : )

pretty crafty little buggers. Last night, I think they sensed that the jig was up, and they have been avoiding my traps that I have strategically placed in the kitchen, and have started congregated on one wall and close to the ceiling. They will rue the day they tried to cross me!!!!

I hate them so much I can't bear to look at them. I used to find myself screaming if I saw one but I've learned to suppress it! I hate snails too, but not quite as much as slugs.

So I can't kill them because that would involve looking at them. However, a friend of mine said the kindest way to kill them is to stab them or cut them in half. Apparently they have very simple nervous systems...

I have to go wash my hands now. Just the thought of them makes me want to hurl. And as for the slug sex, I don't think I'll be checking out that website anytime soon!

Oh That's easy! They were listening, or reading over your shoulder. Just ask Rainbow and I, we know! We weren't born yesterday, we just look like we were : )

>They will Rue the day they messed with me

Uh oh.

That's a baaaaad sign Tamara.
Soon you will be unwashed and scraggly haired, muttering almost unintelligible things

"Must...get.....that fly"

"Tamara there are no flies"

YOU DON"T KNOW WHAT OF YOU SPEAK!!! Go BACK GO BACK TO THE FILTH FROM WHICH YOU EMERGED!!!!

Perhaps you could just find a way to coexist peacefully for now?
