Gratitude

Posted by ron1953 on February 8, 2005, at 23:31:34

I'm as guilty as the next person for griping about the things that are wrong, the things that I want different, ad nauseum. I'm going to list some of the simple things for which I'm grateful:
- Judi (of course)
- The ability to love
- The blessing to be loved
- Harville Hendrix
- My physical health (1 out of 2 ain't bad)
- A comfortable bed (think foam!)
- Friends (who I don't attend to well)
- Good food (if i'm not too tired or lazy to do it)
- This PC, email, PB, etc.
- TV (when I'm too lazy to do something better)
- Music (what would I do without music)
- Faith (it's only there sometimes but nice when it is)

Well, that's a start. Anybody want to jump on the bandwagon?

Ahhhh..only a few things I can think of .....Music, because as good old Fred Nietzsche said, "Without music, life would be a mistake." Second is books....for I can get lost in them forever. Third, although this should be first, is I have an amazing family..parents, brother, sister, etc. Maybe, hopefully soon, I will be able to add that a s/o does this or that for me. But, will have to see...

» (((jyl))) »,

We are all bad to be around until we 'GET-IT'! I know I was! I know the love of my life girl friend from college in the 70's, probably still thinks I am!

I'm like the fellow on the pile of bodies in the hand cart during the Plague scene from Monty Python's, "The Holy Grail"", "...but Ah'm git'n bet'ah...!"

I was always faithful, just not joyous to be with... I even began to snore... So then sleeping soon was not a time she could escape my wrath.... and left just in time to save her sanity intact!!!

She did cheat on me with her now husband... but why not? I was a gripey, snotty, complicated, entangled and unhappy jerk! Thank God I didn't drink and do drugs! What a picture that would have been!

Count your blessings! When you are counting your blessings, you don't have time to curse your history! It then becomes a better habit, counting your blessings, than those other habits before it!

Rod

PS: c can make you feel in ways we can't and aren't allowed to, so count him as a blessing! Then habituate him, that is if he already isn't!
