Insensitive Teddy Bear taken off market

Posted by Joslynn on February 3, 2005, at 15:14:25

Good news about the bear (from previous thread). Did you guys see this? http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=8&u=/ap/20050203/ap_on_fe_st/teddy_bear

Sorry if this has been posted already elsewhere, just wanted to make sure everyone saw the results, if they were one of the people who wrote in to the company.

If I was in a bad mood, I might have been offended- but I jsut laughed my head off- and then sent it to everyone I know, asking them to get me one- hahahahaha who do you think was at the brainstorming meeting for that one? Moron!

Hahaha

Did you all see this?

Does this mean the bad guys have a sense of humor?

Thank you for that news. I was so offended by that bear that I e-mailed the manufacturer. I'm glad that they have done the right thing. There is enough stigma attached to mental illness without a toy reinforcing it.

While I'm glad that they decided not to make anymore (and when exactly did they decide this...I bet it was a done deal before they announced it)...I'm sad that it sold out. Lots of people obviously thought it was cute, which just perpetuates the stigma all the more.

AND, not making more means the value of these will go UP on eBay. Grrrrr.
