I'm sorry, Lou, but I must decline. I was extremely offended by your use of the word "Anti-Christ" in conjunction with Angel Girl's name in a header -- an act that eventually earned, in my opinion, the wronged party a block. It seems so out of character for you to have done something like that in a post heading, but I for one would like to see a lot more in the nature of a mea culpa and an explicit apology from you for writing something like that. I do not know how much it matters, with respect to my current psychological struggles, but I know it does.
My disconnect from the land occurred about a year before my breakdown. The spirit of the land supported me, took me close to its heart.
Horses and dogs mean manure and compost, and space for growing things. In a quiet place. It sounds like heaven to me.

Actually, I prefer my Spaghettios at shelf temperature and right from the can, but I would be willing to allow you your own spoon; perhaps even your own can.
And with my son now gone, his room sits empty, unless you count everything he left in there, but his bed's available. The dogs all sleep on mine so you could have his to yourself.
If you come in spring you may participate in the mixing of the mortar, the laying of the block, the writing of names in the concrete basement floor, the riding in the wind on a mighty steed with a mind of its own, racing over the logging trails in the forest where I live.
I love American vintage iron horses, but sharing the control, feeling the sheer power and energy...
Ah... I do get distracted. Such joy.

No, on the road kill cafe menu there is no wolf, bobcat, lynx, cougar/mountain lion/panther (all pantheris), nor any other protected species. They, being protected, are turned over to Natural Resources, as they should be.
Emmy, what suits your fancy? Carcass breath might be more flavorful than you think. Don't plead vegetarian, there is plenty edible flora here.

Oh, my dear, dear Susan, when he says what he thinks does it not encourage you to also speak your mind?
I'm doubting that something you've said would be so horrible as to pyss off Atticus righteously. However, if you have, were you not just speaking your mind? In which case, Atticus could have myriad unimaginable reasons to be pyssed off, but that'd be his problem.
The man can't even figure out how to put the keys in and turn the ignition yet; he's still standing there looking baffled at the lack of a place to put his crank (now, now, Atticus).
And he's a poet, not even one tough enough to be struggling in poverty in a little cold attic "garrett" somewhere. And poets are notorious for using mind altering substances to alter their minds so they can be poets (even if his are legitimately prescribed for a professionally diagnosed psychiatric disorder).
Just look at old Edgar Allen. Now, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he was bipolar, at the very least. This shrink stuff just hadn't quite made it to the point where Edgar could get a prescription for his meds.

That menu sounds irresistible, but let's get down to brass tacks: Do they have Guinness at the stores or a nice smoky pub nearby? You have to understand that as a lifelong Manhattanite, I'd likely be more out of my element than anyone else. Perhaps you could clear-cut a forest and put in a grid of asphalt streets and avenues. Besides, I bet the animals would love it. Animals dig pavement. Honestly. ;) Atticus

The Guinness might involve a minor road trip (always fun); the nice smoky pub: the Upper Peninsula is the smoky pub capital of the nation, the nice part, well, it's all in perception.
