You know there where reports that L. Ron Hubbard was a Phenobarbital addict.

Yeah, I get the creeps when I read about Scientology - but to each his/her own?
Tom Cruise and John Travolta are "out of the closet" Scientologists.

I think they are trying to find a purpose, or more deeper look at life, maybe that's why they view medication as "superficial", and they want to use hubbards techniques to help people.
I've heard many bad reports on how they treat their employee's, very harsh and low pay. And bad treatments to those who dont resond to their "techniques". There was a report of a individual was depreived to death becuase they forced rituals on her.
Either that or they just want every one to come to them so they can start making the big bucks, rermeber the 1991 time magazine on the front cover "the cult of greed". You got it.

I think its mainly they are more spiritual and think that we are "simple" minded. I hear some reallly wierd junk starts happening up in the upper OT levels, i mean wierd.
Anyways, they are expensive, espeically in the upper OT levels, you got to be BIG TIME baby

I work in a town that is one of the places where the church bases operations. I too have looked up information on the group, mostly because what I see driving along creeps me out. Masses of people wearing the same clothes, crossing the streets in incredible numbers as they go from building to building. I don't see many smiles. I don't see much interaction. It looks quite homogenized. These are purely superficial observances, and I know that if it wasn't for the church the whole downtown of this place would be empty.
I guess I'd feel more positive towards them if the people I see were happier looking, or talked, or showed some individuality.

Lol I would too PC but I would also consider a lot of the remarks and such hurtful. Some of it lacks sensitivity.

somewhat:
cults fascinate me. i doubt there are any reading the board unless they're trying to recruit the weak. however, most of us have financial problems with our constant hospitalizations and medical bills, and we talk too much (with our shrinks)-- scientologists feed off the rich creme de la creme (or whatever)-- in other words, deep pockets who can keep secrets.
scientology is a scary cult. and any scientologists reading this, i challenge you to correct me.

I know zero about them minus Micheal Jackson was into that once but I am fearful that Dr Bob will see some of these posts as being uncivil ...by his guildlines it would be. Thats what I was doing trying to warn others not to put something in here that might lead say a scientologist to feel say put down. If thise thread was up on say my religion I would feel very put down its a hot bed thread :)

they are all a scam. in order to move up in rank in this cult you have to pay big bucks. In the end you have to pay almost half a million dollars to become ''clear''. 'there is so much on the internet of how families have lost their children due to disconnection encouraged by the cult and etc. There is also a lot of curruption.
it is all about the money and they are currently under investigation in certain countries in europe such as germany for fraud.
its a joke. A sick disgusting cult with brianwash schemes and all. They tell their members how to think and what to think.

its not a religion. they give it that fancy name to make themselves seem like they are actually part of something wholesome. Cult of Scientology doesnt exactly have a nice ring to it dont you think??? thats exactly what they are. And I am disgusted at what they do to our weak youth. The mental conditioning methods they apply. It is appauling.
I have read stories of how they would try to force a member to not seek treatments for cancer and instead to take scientology's treatment's (which do nothing, lets take a bath in mineral water!). She died soon after.
There has also been a case in 1995 of how some girl from a rich family died under the care of scientologists because they refused to take her to a hospital after she wasnt eating anything at all for weeks and was acting psychotic. So they just let her die.
Lets all be anti meds like these guys...
This is the end of the thread.
