Top Ten List?

Posted by JenStar on August 31, 2004, at 19:15:40

hi all,
I've been feeling a bit frazzled so I was hoping to start a top 10 thread. I've seen them in the past and they're always so fun to read!

To kick it off, here are my top 10 of the day. I hope to read top 10 lists from many of you!

1. Sparkling water on a hot day - mmmm, yummy!
2. I lost one pound! (hopefully more to come - er, go!)
3. Favorite magazines arriving in the mail - it's like a mini-Christmas
4. Nice conversation with the grocery clerk (even though she put the watermelon on top of the eggs & tomatoes!)
5. emails from my best college friends
6. judiciously using up lots of food in the fridge w/out needing to buy more -- feel very thrifty and clever
7. clipping AND using coupons to the tune of 2.50$ -- wow!
8. good friend is coming to visit this weekend
9. the smell of clean laundry
5. petting my cat & hearing her purr

1. College is turning out to be much better than I expected.
2. Learning to drive... and I haven't crashed into anything (yet!)
3. Returned to my home church this week after no services in August. It was so great to be back; the congregation is like family to me.
4. I'll be seeing my psychiatrist after a five week break on Tuesday. This, however, is a bit of a mixed blessing.
5. No school tomorrow means time to catch up on homework and do some reading.
6. My program coordinator at school reacted very well when I told him I have SAD.
7. My 17th birthday's this Saturday, so it'll be about one more year before I can do lots of things I've been looking forward to - moving out, volunteering at the SPCA, donating blood, etc.
8. I can probably convince a friend to take me out for coffee on said day.
9. By some miracle, I have enough money to pay for light therapy and my school fees next semester even if insurance doesn't reimburse the cost of the lightbox.
10. Because of the above, I should be able to go on retreat with my youth group this fall. It's so nice to get away from everyday life for a weekend.

Hey, my pdoc just recommended light therapy for me, because my family of origin (way back) is Finnish. There is a lot of darkness-related depression up there, so perhaps it will help me. What kind of box are you going to get? I am thinking of getting a floor lamp versus a box, so I can put it over my bed. The one I'm looking at is dimmable, so I won't blind my hubby when I am just reading or something.

Glad school is not as bad as you thought. That's always fun, eh? And let me know where you are driving...I'll avoid that road.... ;) Just kidding.

Warmly,
gg
