Dang it, it's raining!

Posted by gardenergirl on July 25, 2004, at 16:09:37

I hate outdoor concerts when it is raining...so cold and muddy. Yuck! It better be worth it! 'Specially since my hubby IS going with me. Yes, we talked. It was very very very hard, and many times I wanted to just abandon the conversation and go off on my own. But I hung in there. And eventually we got to something. Eventually. Ugh.

Thanks to everyone who listened, supported, made me laugh, made me cry, and otherwise offered your wonderful selves to me during my crisis. And just FYI...there will be no guns in the house. Whew!

Thanks again. Y'all are the best, hands down! (What does that mean, anyway?) :)

Take care,
gg

I'm so glad you were able to talk it through. :)

And that it won't hang over your heads on your date.

Good work!

Oh Gigi, mon amie!!

I'm sooooo glad you got through it! You used your words after all!! Yeah!!! No more door slamming, or projectiles flyings...how lovely. Em is smiling and showing off her "lines" (Ok, some would call them crows feet, but dag nab it, I refuse!)

Back to you...dot dot dot...does that mean our marriage is off? Krieky. What's a girl gotta do around here to get a little, huh???

When you see Annie tonight, do note that large tofu shaped hicky on her neck. Guess where that came from?

Em

We almost had guns in the house? Yikes !

Hands down is a term from horse racing, apparently when a jockey is very sure of winning
he loosens his hold on the reins and wins "hands down"

Have fun tonight.

I'm so relieved for you. Guns in the house is a scary thing. And I'm especially glad that you were able to talk it out with your husband. It sounds like it was rough. I hope you're getting along better now, and will enjoy the concert.

Good for you, GG. I'm glad you persevered.

I hope that talk is the first of a series (an infinite series) of talks about what is important to you and to him. Were you also able to talk about doing things behind your back? Or is that saved for the next talk?

I hope the concert was good and you brought a large umbrella and a plastic table cloth to sit on.

Thanks, Dinah. Actually, our date was lovely. Very relaxed compared to the way it had been the last few days.

Thanks for your input and support!

You know, it was too far away to see her neck. But I'm sure it was quite an impressive hicky. Sorry, dear about reneging on our plans. But I gotta dance with the one that brung me, so to speak. Plus, I love him, the clod!

Take care and thanks for listening!

Holy cow, yes, it's a big relief. It's nice to be able to sleep and to not be crying all the time.

Thanks so much for listening and supporting on Open. It really helped.

Take care,

Apparently we never were going to have guns, but he did bring it up. And then later said it was a joke, the idiot. Guns are a big issue to me, so this was NOT funny.

And thanks for the 'splanation. How cool is that?

Take care,

Thanks so much for your support and wisdom. You had some good advice. We did start to talk about doing things behind my back, and actually we went pretty deep into stuff, once we got past the biggest hurdle, which was just getting honest and serious. Hubby was initially defensive and was making stupid little jokes, which showed me he still wasn't getting it. Sheesh, did he think I stopped talking just for the heck of it? Anyway, it was really good eventually.

Thanks again.

An honest to goodness date. With both sets of grandparents unwell at the moment, we're either going to have to (gasp!) hire a babysitter or be a threesome for the next five or six years.
