Thanks. I'm doing well, and I'm glad you are improving too. I was wondering how your driving has been since meds. Do you notice a difference, say, in response time or distance judgement or just a lack of awareness to what is going on around you? I had a lot of trouble driving well on Lex. I have fewer problems on Wellbutrin, but I still just don't have that "precision" I used to have.

I thank God for Xanax. It has made my life tolerable many, many times. It cuts right through anxiety and panic attacks without leaving me feeling drugged. It can make me very sleepy though if I am already sleep-deprived because of anxiety. But everyone's experiences are different. Some people don't like it.

I went to the doc and she upped me to 20mg of lex and gave me a sparing amount of xanax. I didn't even ask for it, I just explained how I feel on sundays and she gave it to me, but with great warning to only use it when i really really need it. She gave me the same prescription on life that i know i need. a career change!

its my boyfriends birthday this sunday so i am going stir crazy looking for the perfect gift! i think i have found it so that stress has lifted a bit!

Hey thanks for welcoming me - Here is a little info about myself. I am 33, married with two wonderful kids and I suffer from Anxiety/panic disorder. I have been suffering since I was 17 on and off, but for the last 5 years it has been more on than off. I take 0.25 of xanax sometimes and 5mg when I am having bad anxiety like right before my period. (thank God for xanax)
I finally got sick of the anxiety and wanted to treat it with something more than just the xanax, so my doctor prescribed me Lexapro - being afraid of medication to begin with,I was skeptical and searched the website high and low for some answers to this medication, and that's how I found the Remedy find website which lead me to sexy lexy who then brought me here. Thanks lexy!
I am happy to say that I am on 5mg of Lexapro once a day for 6 weeks now, and I feel better.I also don't know if I am posting correctly on this site- I don't whether or not I should start a new thread or what. So can someone please help and tell me exactly what to do.

Thanks so much for the sweet thoughts. It has been really nice being home, I am looking foward to Boca and getting some nice R and R. I know the road stresses you out a lot and must be hard on your body, ever had a massage or done yoga...it seems to have helpped me a lot with anxiety and muscle tension. i have a question...Is 20 mg of Lex A LOT? I know some of you are on that, it is a lot though...I dont know exactly how to explain what I mean...I was on 20mg of paxil, but from what i hear, 10 mg of lex is like 20mg of paxil or something....is xanax scary? I am half afraid to take one...my mom takes 5 a day...sheesh...i just dont want to get hooked.

Well, I spoke to my doctor today and he told me to cut back to 10 mg, but keep it at 20 mg the 7 days before my period. I don't know if this is a good idea, but I will try. He said the 10mg should cut back on the brain fog and sleepiness, but the 20 will cut back on my anxiety/obsessiveness/depressive thoughts before my period. We'll see. I was looking for a magic solution I guess - like if you combine it with wellbutrin you can have the best of both worlds. If this doesn't work, I may go off Lex (gradually of course) and try some natural or homeopathic rememdies. I can't go back to my angry, anxious depressed self, but I can't go around sleepy & foggy all the time!

i was on 20mg of paxil and am now on 20 of lex. i think i am going to decrease the lex a little...i have brain fog but the anxiety is feeling somewhat better. i also take .25 to .5 xanax a day and it's really not that much. hope it helps :)

Hey 20mg of lex is not at all a lot. I work with a bunch of pdocs who feel that the drug company tried to make a big deal out of this miricale drug that you could take 10Mg of and be "cured". The docs I have talked to feel that in a lot of cases, 10 is not enough. There were people who used to post on here that were on between 30 and 100mgs. About Xanax, I have never taken one so I cannot help you out. I know they are great for anxiety but you have to be careful to take them when needed not all the time because they are addicting.

My internist told me to start cutting back to 10mg of Lex by taking 20mg one day (my current dose) and then 10mg the next - do this for a week. THEN - because I still have freak-out sessions the week before my period, he said to take 20mg that week only.Any experiences with this or opinions? This was to combat my foggy/sleepy state that hasn't seemed to abate after 6 months on Lex.

I also was on 20 mg of Lexapro which I couldn't tolerate because of brain fog (not that my brain isn't irrevocably glazed anyway), so my doctor added ritalin (yes, ritalin) to be taken when needed. It did help somewhat, but not enough to keep me staying with the lexapro. Actually I found Lexapro one of the more benign meds re cognitive impairment. Anyway, just a suggestion, Phil
