About you, Karen

Posted by All Done on May 4, 2004, at 11:42:27

Karen,

You are a remarkable young woman. And yes, I use the word young although I imagine you cringe when you read it. Being young is a wonderful thing. Enjoy it while it lasts. It means you have many more years to grow and learn. Enjoy being who you are now while you anticipate what is to come because I do believe you have a lot of happiness in store for yourself. You are loved by many and you have so much love to give.

You make a noticeable impact on the lives of everyone you are near. Here, you teach us by giving so much of yourself and your feelings in your posts each day. You have an uncanny ability to put a positive spin on everything and you put smiles not just on our faces but in our hearts. Trust me when I say we are learning from that. You inspire me to do the same for others.

You love everyone and everything. You don’t discriminate. You appreciate the beauty in everything around you. You are a wonderful daughter, sister, and friend. You love your mom. You are intelligent, loving, caring, concerned, witty, and wise beyond your years.

All I ask is that you never forget to be good to yourself, too. You deserve nothing less.

You are an amazingly beautiful person. Thanks for being you.

Laurie

P.S. If you try to turn this into an All Done Love Fest, I’ll have to have a word with you. This is about YOU, Karen.

laurie,

such a beautiful name. you know that? you're really too much for words. i can't help but put a little bit of 'you're wonderful too' in here. just a little, ok?

small list:

* your relationship with your mother: i know how hard it is for you dear. but god, i wish i could put into words how very much i admire and respect and truly love you for working on that. you are amazing dear. simply amazing. and courageous. and caring. and so very special for doing that. i wish you would call my sister and talk to her. you set an example for me, so that i can follow and continue to love and respect my mother as well. thank you for being such a wonderful daughter. you're working on it and doing such a great job. thank you so very much for that. i honestly admire you, you unselfish and caring woman you.

*you relationship with your son: you are such a great mother. when i see wonderful mothers, it almost makes me cry. i want to hug them, i want to follow them around, peraps i want to be them? thank you for raising such a beautiful son. thank you for loving him. thank you for bringing such a wonderful person into this world and taking such very good care of him. thank you for caring about him. thank you for doing all of these things without even thinking about it. that's what makes you special! i love wonderful parents. and it makes me happy to see so very many of them. it's like a dream come true! thank you laurie for being at the top of the list for wonderful parents.

*your friendship: thank you for caring about me. you worry, and that's not always productive but it warms my heart to think you worry about me. you're really great. friends who worry and aren't always calling or emailing just when they need help are really something nice to have around. thank you laurie for your friendship. it's something i'm very happy to have, and will treasure for the rest of my life. thanks for making me feel special and wonderful during those times when i don't. it's a truly great ability to have you know? and you sure got it girlie!

and finally, thank you for this post. it really is something sweet. i'll come back to it when i need that extra boost to tell me i'm special and you aren't chained to your desk to tell me on im dear. thank you again. you really are special. but, that begs the question, who's more special, you or i? that's rhetorical of course :)

thank you dear. and i'm glad to you have the great opportunity to know you as well. you really are something dear.... let's have a look.

*your words: i know i've said it before, but your words read like poetry. even a simple "i agree" is a poem. you have an ability to turn a simple phrase into a work of art jyl. don't ever lose that. and i'm certain you do that with everything you touch. i'd love to live inside your world. i think together we could create rainbows and gardens dear.

*your perseverance: you are wonderful jyl. you don't give up. if by chance you fall down, you dust yourself off, take a quick glance around, laugh it off (or cry if it hurt), and get right back up and try again. i love that about you. you just won't give up. i think that's a beautiful quality to have. you are amazing

you have many more qualities i love about you, but my time is short dear. i'll always list them though if you need to hear them. don't ever hesitate to ask. you know where to find me if you need me darling....

penny sweetie...

hope this brightens your day, like you brightened mine. thank you for that... a few (just a small list, sorry it's so short) things i love about penny...

*she loves her animals. she posts their pictures because she is proud of them. and they are beautiful. she takes very good care of them, and loves them very much. she's a wonderful mommy to her babies and they love her back. it's absolutely wonderful when someone like penny loves their animals so much. it shows they have true compassion and caring for living creatures. it's a sign of that nurturing quality. it's very special. thank you penny for loving your animals and taking such good care of them. it shows you have respect for all living creatures and that you are a very special person.

*she's beautiful. she won't always admit it, but she really is. she is supportive and hurts when she's not as supportive as she'd like to be. she even posts that she feels bad because she can't be as supportive as she'd like. again, it shows her true compassion and beauty. not just inside either. she's a beautiful and lovely person on both the inside and out, even if she won't admit it. i sure will.

*last, but not least, her shiny red hair. those lovely locks of red hair that catch everyone's eyes as she passes by. how could she not be beautiful and amazing with such beautiful hair? her hair is just a sign of her true spirit and beauty. penny, you're beautiful! thank you.

and miss susnhine (as i will now call you, no need to call you rainyday, and you set your goals too low for partly cloudy dear. i see the sunshine in you. don't sell yourself short sweets...)

*your ability to brighten others' days. you do it to me all the time. that's an incredible quality to have. i'm not quite sure if you know you possess this amazing ability, but you do. embrace it and love it. you have it dear, and you don't even have to work for it. this is why i call you sunshine now. you bring it to me when it's raining outside. maybe i'll bring the sun to you as well? perhaps that's how life works my dear? others bring you sunshine, and you deliver it to them.... i'll ponder that theory for a while.. see, you just inspired me yet again without trying... you work magic, you vixen you :)

*your ability to change and see progress within yourself. you do it and you know it. you're changing and you know you are. you can see your own progress every day. that's something special dear. most of us can't see our own elbows, but you have the ability to see your own progress in a short amount of time. that's really something dear.

*the fact that you're just so darn sweet. you really are. that post for me really made my heart skip a beat. you're something alright. sweet as sugar, only cuter i'm certain. you dear seem to know what to say, only with sincerity straight from the heart. you're kind, very kind. you're really a sweetie dear. thank you for everything. i won't forget it.

In reply to Re: About you, Karen, posted by Jai Narayan on May 4, 2004, at 19:51:21

my sweet jai. what can i say about you i haven't already said? you know i'm completely in love with you darling. let's run away to vegas together. :)

*jai, you're my spiritual mentor of sorts. (with the help of emmy too of course) i've learned so much from you about how to be a better person. you not only set an example, you also post things that teach. you're so very wise jai. i'd love to have a cup of coffee (or a quart of wine if you prefer) with you and listen to you talk. i know you could and will teach me so much more, about life, not just through readings or lectures but through your own personal experiences as well. you have such a great view of things. i'd love to learn more about that. i'm listening if you're willing to talk dear.

*your compassion. and girlie, do you have it. you make me cry, because you cry. you really feel things and that's wonderful. you were actually one of the very first babblers i began speaking with. and it was because i knew you were special. i knew you were compassionate. i knew you are one very kind and loving person.

*your love of nature. your humor. your charm. (ok, so i combined a few things into one.. shoot me. it's not fair to only give everyone else three and give you more, is it?) you love birds, something i never really cared about. but, since then i have noticed them. i've noticed their singing in the mornings. i've noticed them in the daytime, flying around. and i've noticed them in the evening, flying in flocks. thank you for allowing me to notice the beauty of birds, something i wouldn't have done before.
humor: you and i can joke. we can joke about cooking in the kitchen wearing nothing but aprons, and leaving the mess for mr bob to clean up (btw, i still have dishes mr bob, you are slacking on your duties!). i love that we can joke and be catty, but at the same time we can talk and be supportive too. that's friendship. we learn from eachother. it's wonderful. you're wonderful. thank you jai for being you.

In reply to Me eight, then. :) (nm), posted by Dinah on May 4, 2004, at 20:36:10

miss dinah, what can i say? your name alone sums it up i think. you should know by now i adore you, as does just about everyone else on this board (and those who don't, we should have a talk outside...). but, let me try to tell you again, in case you didn't hear me the first thousand times i told you how much i adore you......

*you're my mentor. although, much like bubba, you turned down the offer, i wouldn't take no for an answer. i need a mentor and you are perfect dinah. i look up to you. you seem to always have an answer, and is seems to be right on track dear. you not only befriended a 'lost' newbie like me, but you gave me someone to look up to. dinah my dear, you really set an example for me to follow. not just on the board, but for life in general. you're intelligent and a therapy idol of sorts. you have answers for questions, not just for therapy, but concerning issues outside the office as well. thank you for always having an answer. thank you for setting such a great example. thank you for being a role model.

*you're beautiful. your appearance is very cute dinah. i really believe that to be true. but not just your appearance, your heart. the way you care for your dogs and love them. and your family. and your parents. you're a beautiful person dinah. and all of us know that. thank you for being so beautiful.

*your way with words: even when you disagree with someone, you have a way of wording it so that it doesn't come across as being harsh. i wish that would rub off on me :) you have a talent of being diplomatic and that's a true talent to own. but even when you aren't arguing or disagreeing, you are supportive and insightful. you remember when posters have therapy and have wonderful ideas and suggestions. dinah, thank you for being so very wonderful. is it any wonder you are my mentor? i don't think so..

Exactly, Dinah!

You know, I warned the girl, didn't I? Now, I'm going to have to have a "talk" with her...<sigh>...

Hey, Karen. Do you know how many times I used the word YOU in my post? Thirty, including the subject line. Get it? YOU! Karen. KK. Miss Karen. karen_kay. It's all about you and that's okay sometimes. I swear. (Well, that's a bad habit of mine. I'll have to work on that.) Didn't mean to put you to work, dear. Just wanted to let you know how special you truly are. Now, get back to studying...

Needless to say, Karen, seeing this tribute thread is making me wonder if I've been a cad and a cavalier, unappreciative FOOL to rebuff those passes you've been making at me in the other room! (OOPS -- until now, few of those whose hearts you've stolen probably even *realized* you were cheating on them over there... except those currently on narcotics or hallucinogens and finding everything interesting!) ;- )

But let me ask you one question, Ms. Kay, Babbling Mascot Extraordinaire ....

> THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.... (ad infinitum)..

> wOWSA!!! you know, of all the times i've ever posted things several times over and over again, this is the FIRST time it ever struck me to actually use cut and paste. so yes, i'm a fraud. i didn't type all of these.

<<<<<<< The question is, when you did that, did you keep pasting the same one or two "THANK YOUS" over and over; OR did it occur to you to keep copying multiples of them as they expanded, so that before long your mouse was loaded with a veritable *cornucopia* of "THANK YOUS," to be pasted all at once??

I AM KIDDING!!! I CONCUR -- YOU INDEED ARE A MUSE AND A TREASURE! In fact, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that you should now cease the pursuit of better mental health and just hang around (that's the least you can do, if I'm going to agree to continue existing only in cyberspace, foregoing sleep when necessary)! ;- )

(Ok, DIIIIINNNG!!! My allotted playtime for the day is up!)
