1. I got a coupon in the mail for $10 off a pedicure...maybe I'll really do it this time!

2. It's a lovely day outside, I will find some weeds with which to do battle. I shall slay the wee buggers.

3. I have a new good book to read recommended by Dinah and purchased via those lucrative double quotes!

4. I did manage to get to my T appointment on the correct day. Although I was practically Linda Blair with my head turning completely around and speaking in tongues, he did not run from the room screaming. He was warm, and kind, and gentle and supportive. I'm bring the adoption papers to him next week.

5. I got kissed by puppies a lot. And no KK. It WAS purely platonic.

6. I think I've gone at least 3 days on Babble without incensing anyone. But I should double check.

7. At work, someone told me that I'm beautiful. However, she is a severely psychotic px. Does that still count?

8. Girlfriends. Ain't nothing to compare. Everything else in life comes and goes...but those special GF's, they are forever. Jai - yes, this goes against the concept of impermanence, but that's because Buddha was a guy. :-)

9. Passionate people with big hearts who work for change.

10. Da Babblers of course.

10. i look adorable today

9. sat on porch yesterday, moved to neighbor's porch with a picnic, then moved to boy neighbor's porch. spring weather is lovely and sitting on the porch talking about the 'fun' classes and adventures and life in general is even better.

8. phone calls. friend called. lovely (wonderful, beautiful, amazing, oh, the words can't desribe it) conversation about hardware store, life, family, many things. then, my sister called. talked about family, funerals, reunions, gave me the 'go ahead'. then my friend called. talked about love, getting together, school. i love getting calls, one after the other. call waiting. calls one right after the other make me feel loved. and kk loves to feel loved.

7. no shower saturdays. now, not saturday nights, but saturday days. when you just throw on your clothes, wash your face, watch the neighbors barbeque, sit on your porch, leave the music off so you can hear the birds sing, sit outside, make coffee all day long, wear what you did the the day before SATURDAY. that's what i'm saying. love saturday day.

6. zenhussy. and her strength and courage and wisdom. (((zen)))) you take care. remember, we can be stuck together. xoxoxoxo

5. all done. and her wit and humor and her gosh darn personality. darn it, why can't i be you? or at least type like you? thank you for being such a wonderful person, and mother. (speaking of mothers, wasn't your mom a nun?)

4. jyl. and her ability to overcome. jyl, you're doing beautifully. you really are wonderful. thank you. i always knew you could do it. and t is right, you really are beautiful. and magnificent as well.

3. gabbi. wow, this could take a while. anyone want to take a break first? gabbi, i miss you and your charm. my rival is missing. you really are too much for me to even begin to say. all i can say is that you are missed. and that i still see you, on a park bench, feeding your cheese sandwhich to the birds, with your lovely locks gently blowing in the breeze, but never out of place, a book in your hand and your head slightly back, your mouth open and laughter rolling out of your mouth. gabbi, i miss you dear. it brings tears to my eyes. i know you are looking very lovely right now, but i almost wish you weren't dressed to a T, as that may mean danger. gabbi, please do let me know you are ok and still feeding the birds your cheese sandwhich with that laughter rolling out of your mouth.... oh gabbi, i really do miss you...

2. kid. you really are amazing. what a wonderful father you are. and the funny and ellaborate stories you tell. not to mention that darn calculator watch. you are the whole package, wrapped up in one. perhaps one day, you'll recognize your amazement? perhaps one day, we all will? wouldn't that be heaven, simply magic. here's to you kid, for being amazing. thanks for all the laughs, and tears, and sharing with us all of your wonderful stories and adventures with gum, and you child's first romance, and your emotions. thank you for being honest and above that, thank you for being you. you really are wonderful. thank you for being that way.

1. my old man just came home. i greeted him with a kiss. we talked for a bit. he played drums on his belly and i tried to guess what song he played. it was the A-team theme song. he got a hair cut today. i noticed. i'l go play with him for a while. we'll have fun, as i'm feeling playful (no, not that type of fun, get your mind out of the gutter folks). here's to sunshine. and feeling better. and accomplishments. and playing drums on your belly. and getting haircuts. and NORMAL everyday things. like playing with your dog. and doing sumersalts on the couch. and playing with the old man.

10. Got lost on the way to a conference, but found my way anyway, and wasn't anxious, but rather confident!

9. Really enjoyed the people at the conference.

8. Learned lots at the conference.

7. Drove there with a wonderful friend from school who laughs really hard with me and would not be offended if I laughed so hard I peed my pants (notice "would not be" not "was not"...I did not pee my pants!)

6. Think I got checked out by guys a couple of times on the way.

5. Got carded at the bar after!!! I feel young! Or just gracefully included...either way.

4. Sitting in the sunshine outside the bar, getting to know new friends and catching up with old ones.

3. Got re-elected to a position that means a lot to me...advocacy-related...one of my passions! Good thing, because I have big plans for this year! Watch out world of graduate students, here I come, (again)!

2. I have a plan for dealing with the boss that my therapist trainee friend helped me to formulate. I will be SO professional! I will be so calm and centered. I will blow him away with my boundaries maintained, articulate statements, and ownership of what's mine and not owning what's his. (okay not so articulate at the end, but you get it!)

1. Having a place like Babble, with oh so many unique and wonderful people. I can be me and be accepted. Makes me happy...

Bonus: Walking in my yard everyday and seeing the daily changes in my garden. The cherry tree is in full spectacular bloom, and the lilacs will be next...MMMMM!

Take care all,
gg

JYL...great for you! I am really happy for you, and yes this storm is 'nice' in a certain way, eh?
I've been feeling bad myself and haven't posted or emailed much...but I have tried...gawd I've tried!! Now, feel the rain wash away all the bad things, the harsh winter, all the scars of yesterday, and with foot upon the stair, shoulder to the wheel, sometimes we can't tell ourselves how to think or feel. Another cloudy day...maybe soon, yes, we will see the sun.

Sincerely,
Jay

You are just too sweet and kind to me, Miss Karen. How'd I get so lucky to make a friend like you? I mean you. Not another friend, you know, someone *like* you. Well, you get the point. I hope.

> (speaking of mothers, wasn't your mom a nun?)

Well yes she was, kk. So nice of you to remember. Anyway, how do you think she got such a spectacular daughter...she had connections ;).

Wait a minute. Was the Big Guy upset with her for leaving the convent??? Oh dear...

you're all very sweet. and much too kind.

all done. your mother was the one who lucked out with such a truly wonderful daughter dear. and i'm certain she had connections to win such a prize. and i consider it my best luck to have such a wonderful friend like you, my dear. thank you again.

kid. no darling, you're the one who's simply adorable. i could list all of your adorable traits, but i wouldn't want to embarrass you. i don't want to argue with you right now, so i'll quit for now. let's compromise and say i'm right, ok? or, let's just say we're both adorable, ok? that works for me. and thanks for not distracting me and reminding me to study. thanks for never distracting me. i appreciate that. thank you kid.

gabbi. i'm glad it meant so much to you. that's how i see you, in my mind. hopefully i'm not far off. i really hope to talk to you soon dear. take care of yourself darling. and take very good care of your lovely hair.
