I'm in Open

Working hard at not working.

Anyone willing and able to lend a hand at helping me procrastinate?

Okay we are always lurking.....love you.
I have been crying for the last 1/2 hour about our nuclear power plant.....As the rain falls so do my tears...flooding the very planes with the newly arrived Herons. I feel like puking...I am so sad. We could lose all the land and our lives to this plant. I am so sad.
I will cry a river.

I must have missed something; what happened with the nuclear power plant, where?

I don't know what to say. I'm sad with you dear. Maybe you should drink some wine, cry it out, then set to work forming a protest or sit-in? Do what makes you feel better about the situation. I know that there's not much you can do about it, so why not look out your window and enjoy the birds? Will that help ease your mind? I'm sorry dear, I really am. Those poor birds and my poor Jai......

How do you do u?

Is that where people chat in an open forum?
I am so "duh" that I'm not sure how to do that.

our local nuke makes me puke

We fought the locally owed company from selling our local nuke. And lost! A company from the south owns it now.(the plant is 5 miles away).
We are now fighting the up rate, which is uping the power on our old nuke plant by 20%. So if a problem occurs then my favorite place in the world will perish.
All the fish will perish, all the birds will die, all the people will be changed, all the salamanders will have 6 legs, and the frogs...well you see where I'm going with this....
I came upon a site where they are sending childrens baby teeth to be tested for Stontium 90...
no more tooth fairy....
the scientists take the teeth and crush them and measure the horrible radio active content and report back....
I just couldn't contain that pain....it flowed over and I cried the whole night.
Can you picture it....your daughter or son handing over their teeth to see how terribly we are being polluted?
It was way over the top for me.
Where are we headed????

You need to be about 50 miles away instead of only five miles. 50 miles is roughly eight "tenth-thicknesses" in air away from the source. Sad isn't it? Something so potentially good can be so bad for us! If you move, also move up-wind from the plant, if possible.

PS: Guess you know what I was doing in the Navy while people were getting shot and dieing while running around in the jungle during the Viet Nam "ugliness"! The Navy was training me that it was OK if I glow in the dark.....lol!

**Chernobyl accident happened and how many miles did the radio activity spread?
Did you know that some of the towns people are moving back...they miss the land their families have lived on for many generations. They say they don't care if it kills them. They are growing food and eating it.
I am so sad and on my more vulnerable days I cry. The choices we have made on this planet break my heart.

I was just making sure you heard an emergency plan/strategy. Five miles away will save from the initial steam explosion, but the core shuts down so the meltdown radiation levels dissapate over 50 miles to background. Of course the winds can blow the dust clouds right into the food chain etc. I'm just trying to help keep you alive till the first two weeks has past. The rest of the survival would be up to you from that point. I hope you aren't toooo busy being angry to think about how important what I am telling you is. If I were you, I would move first, then mount the campaign to shut 'em down. Your anger and fears (justified as they are) is the fuel the Nuclear industry counts on to jack the **** out the prices they charge, "...since safety is so important! You can never be tooooooo safe with Nuclear power!" That gets them boxcars full of money. My rallying call is shut 'em down, period! ...and that's a lot cheaper!!!

Shut 'em down! That's both cheaper and safer!!!

So far the only folks to benefit from "clean, safe, and inexhaustible Nuclear energy is the investors. The plants are mostly shut down for crisis or maintenance anyway. Some plants only produce for 1 month each year. The investors fleece the government because, "You already built it. You don't want it to be unsafe, do you?"

The knowledge of Nicola Tesla is forbidden simply because he proved that with the right engineering, you could get electricity to run your house for free from the differential between earth and sky. Call it controlled (managed) lightning. Focus it from the earth, through the light bulb or motor or refrigerator (etc) out to the sky and voila. Free power. The government forced him to take his secret to his grave.

The truth is, it wasn't a permanent secret. Tesla wasn't a God, just a man. So some other man solved it, too. ...and another, and another. It won't be long now.

*Tell me when it's too much....
I really don't know yet.
I have just started to drink and I haven't gotten the hang of it yet. I gave it up for many many many years because I found it boring....but now it seems kinda fun. I like the feeling like I am taking off in a plane.
I may give it up again....you never know. I may find it too repititive. I get bored with routine.
You are so sweet to be thinking of me. I hope I can have the forethought to leave before we have a meltdown.
Thanks

Hugs to you.
