Daisy, Falls, Cubic, Dee...(con't below)

And all of the other BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL, FABULOUS, GORGEOUS, SPLENDID, WONDEROUS, FANTASTIC, GRACIOUS, FAIR, LOVELY, CHARMING, ELEGANT, EXTRAORDINARY, ASTONISHING, AMAZING, REMARKABLE, ASTOUNDING, SWEET, STRIKING, and INTELLIGENT women on Babble. I learn so many things from each and every one of you each day. Thank you all so very much. (To the wonderful women mentioned above, please feel better soon. I think about you every day. Take care of yourselves. I would if I were as astonishing as you truly are!)

I can't write, so I have to steal, sorry Charlie!

Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
They swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
The palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

~Maya Angelou

Ladies, you are all truly phenomenal! Thank you again for being that way.

Awwww, sweetie, I didn't even think you knew who I was, let alone put me amongst a list of wonderful people like these.

We all love you Miss Kay, you should send that poem to yourself too. Cubic xx

Falls... Thank you for allowing me to help. It means so much to me. When your project is completed, think of the sense of accomplishment you will have. These things take time. Not every step along the way can be planned to perfection. If it was, we wouldn't be able to learn so many new ways of doing things. If only I could learn that :) Falls, you are truly inspiring me, you know that don't you? Thanks again.. And you are doing beautifully in all aspects of your life!

Cubic... Silly, how could I not know who you are? Sometimes it rains (yuck! I just hate the rain) but if it didn't, we wouldn't have the beautiful rainbows, would we? Take care of your wonderful self, ok?

Guilt and a Lama (the one L kind)

Once upon a time I was at retreat with an American Buddhist lama - Surya Das. He was talking about guilt, and he used his mother as an example. He said that his mom was in the hospital for tests that week, the tests were apparently not critical. But, she was trying to lay a guilt trip on him for not being there.

He said we should try to think of guilt as a gift offered which we can chose not to accept!

What's that say about the giver? :) » EmmyS

Oh, Emmy... You and your wonderful lessons... I look forward to more in the future. But, I should feel guilty for not giving credit where credit is due.

The giver of the guilt gift? She's obviously just plain evil!!! ;-)

Karen,

Thanks. You know what I'm talking about. I knew it would make a difference and be noticed. You are the best.

For you:

My friendship garden is not really well planned,
there is some intentional planting,
but nothing is banned,

I look at the tangles, a disorganized mess,
the bushes and bulbs
who leave you to guess

When will they flower? When will they bloom?
Which has to power
to dispel the gloom?

My bets on the roses,
in colors so darin'
that they can only be named
after my friend Karen.

I love you KK!

Thank you. Your point of view helped me to learn as well. Amazing what people can learn from one another. I learn so much everyday, it's astounding! I didn't think it was possible to grow this much in such a short amount of time. You helped me more than I helped you, and for that I can not express my gratitude.

I got this quote from a Jack Kerouac novel. He used to hear the faint recording only he could hear of Frank Sinatra singing the words to one of his favorite songs :

"....And when I'm gloomy, you've simply got to listen to me, until it's talked away......

I'll listen Daisy. I only wish I could write you a poem as beautiful as the one you wrote me. Thank you so very much for that. I do believe you can make this young girl cry. Thank you for the gift of tears, so needed at times... I'm here, listening any time you need me. Anytime at all!
