Gab,
Your message reminded me of the squish. I think it is a wonderful concept, and wish we could all do it in person! I hope I did it right.

A squish wish?

I swear, I didn't even read your message, I just saw the heading and I got up from the computer and went to get a valium (NOT because of the heading) As I was walking I was thinking
"If we could do that in person, that would be just the nicest thing"
I came back and looked, and saw you'd just said the same thing..
Yes, a very wisty (poetic licence) squish wish.
So close and yet so far ..sigh..

doggone it! That seems to be the drug-not-to-be-prescribed here in the U.S.

Your response to my post put a smile on my face, for which I thank you. }squish{

Where to begin?

1. Zen, Happy Birthday.

2. Shar! So good to see you, I was and have been a bit worried about you.

3. Shar, loved the quotes.

4. Gabbi and Shar, pray, do tell me about the squish. I want to know!

Isnt' that weird?
I pay dearly for it, not in dollars, but in withering looks. Funny it's xanax that is the
never prescribed drug in Canada, in my experience anyway, it's like asking for heroin.
I'm glad I made you smile.

What a most excellent explanation, Gabbix. There are only a few in this world I would squish, and you, and zen and Noa are among those.

Noa, thanks for your thoughts. I don't know if I'm long for this world, but it's been a pleasure having you as a compadre. Please, always take care.

Shar, you know how I feel. Please don't choose death. Babe, you need help and hope now. We can give you love and support but not improved treatment, which I really think you need right now.

Sending you a squish. {Shar}

Hold on. It can get better. It has to. Find a new doctor. Find a new med. Please.

Miss Hussy,
One of the most truly amazing people on the planet, with such a great name to boot. You really can't know everything you've done for me, but maybe I'll make a list. Feel free to print this out and refer back when feeling down (as if a person like you should ever feel down though..) You deserve happiness aplenty and I know in my heart you'll get it. Soon, very soon.

To the list:
*helped me to feel that I am special (how could I not be if a very special person like you would choose to speak with me?)
*made me realize a few things aobut this world and the way it works (is that a good thing you ask? YES ma'am! I tend to be very naive you know!)
*kept me company when I thought no one cared (again, showing your perfect timing, your willingness to help others, and your overall AWESOME attitude)
*(last but not least) made me face some things that I needed to without being forceful.. I always did like a woman with a gentle touch, you know...

I wish I could give you more than a lousy list, but it's a start and I'm rather broke. If you want to know more of the things you've done, just let me know and I'm happy to continue adding..

You take care and celebrate your birthday again.. Once for such an important person just isn't enough..

We haven't known each other much, Zenhussy~ but belated b'day from me, too... my best to you in Your Journey... :)

Shar, That Quote!
i'd like to use it in one of the books i've been writing :
"To Walk Without Weapons Or Shields".

~Is the quote from your post from the Dinah we know and love HERE on PB?

Shar, NOOooooooooo!!! You are so wonderful!
Please take Noa's advice~
or come visit me with my old house in the forest and the looney peacocks and the elves....
You are too precious my dear. Too precious be a nominee for debri. Times are tough everywhere right now. It is the Earth's "Red Time". Hang in, Precious One.

Falls, _tell_ her....
Tell her the one my father used to tell me:
"I'm not as thunk as some drinkle peep i am,
but the higher i stand here, the longer i get"
(~~he was NOT talking about alcohol).

Be Long for this world, Shar.

ED,
I am not aware of the quote being from 'our' Dinah (tho' I'd not rule out the possibility)... But if you like that one, cogitate on this one a bit...

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--WOW--What a Ride!" ~WL Deanes

If only I could attain that attitude! That quote was sent to me as part of a 'signature' from a person at the hospice org I volunteer for. I thought it was SO great!! If only I could feel that way, just for a little while!

Are you familiar with Sharon Ellison's book? It might be right up your alley. It's "Taking the War out of Our Words".

Please tell us when your book is published!

and...good to see you, ED!

Falls,
You are so compassionate, especially to someone who does not 'get' the more poetic and artistic sides of you.

I'm grateful to your offer to help, but I'm sure you've been where I am now, or you would not understand. Nobody can help. It is a decision I alone must make (and I know you know that), and, for now, I am here.

Thanks very much for your concern,
Shar

;) ...i know my dad's quote doesn't quite sound as sagely in print, (it's deeper than it first appears, and no, is not about intoxicants) but something about your above previous post and your understanding of Shar, 'hunched me' that you have the closest sagely & sometimes paradoxical tone to deliver it to her....

Be Long for this world, too, Falls.

i'm going to propose a 'small' Joni Mitchell quote for you, shar, if you don't mind?:

"...You've got to shake your fists at lightening now,
You've got to Roar like forest fire~
Spread your light like blazes
All across the sky

They're going to aim the hoses on you.
Show them
You won't expire
Not even if you burn up every passion...
Not even
will you die

(C'mon now, you've got to try)
If you're feeling contempt~ well then you Tell It.
If you're tired of The Silent Night,
jesus
Then You Yell It...

Condemned to wires and hammers~
Strike every chord that you feel
That broken trees
and elephant ivories
Can Reveal."

*(disclaimer: i might have a word or two off. i quoted that from my heart's memory. it's from her "Ludwig's Tune"

There was a time when my pain was great, and my hope for positive change was non-existent.

But, seeing that things couldn't get worse, I took a risk that I never thought I would take. I finally realized that even if I "lost" when taking that risk that things couldn't be any worse than they already were. It was almost like a "thinking outside the box" kind of risk.

That was 9 months ago, and while my life isn't wonderful, I do now have hope. And I am learning and growing.

Please think outside the box.
