I am already married but I can't resist a good puzzle. If I win will I get the guy? I am being really up front with this already being married stuff.....so should I take a chance?
I am really confused and need some assistance. I am leaning toward the surgeon....no, the rocket....surg...
I will make my guess clear if I can get married twice. Please respond.

Will you get the guy????? Now I'm feeling HIGHLY insulted and put down... OH, Dr. Bob, You who.... Why is he never around when you need him? Oh, he seems to come out of the wood work (or computer screen) at his convenience....

Jai, you know good and well that I am A LADY!!! And I do mean a lady. So, if you were to marry me, you would be marrying a LADY. And a LADY I am. Thank you very much.... And quit trying to cheat

Though, I will give you a hint. Even my therapist answered wrong. Looks like he won't be marrying me anytime soon. His loss, not mine... I think that I'm the only person who knows the correct answer. It's not a brain teaser of any sort. I just want to see who agrees with me, as I haven't found anyone yet who does.

Ok, will this get Bob out of the way? You know how I've felt, even before I knew you... Obsessing... Obsessing... Oh, you're still here..

Ok. Here goes. It's a trick question. They are both equally intelligent.

(((((BAM!!!)))

So, do our parents have to be at the wedding? I know a great drive through in Vegas. Bob can come, if you can promise me he won't act jealous or uncivil.

Based on the hint, I'm thinking the answer is the brain surgeon. My initial instinct, however, was to ask if you, Karen, are a rocket scientist or a brain surgeon. If you are a rocket scientist, I would have to say the rocket scientist is most definitely the smarter of the two.

There. I win solely based on my ability to suck up to you :).

Hmm.. I've met exactly one brain surgeon, and one rocket scientist... and I'd much rather marry the brain surgeon. He was way cuter than the rocket scientist. Wait.. that wasn't really the question at all was it?

Yet, pleasantly surprised. Though I still haven't found my future husband or bride. Though, by the responses I have learned quite a bit about the people on this board. That's always a plus. I think that Tabitha is on the right track though. And Jeff, I'd marry you hun (maybe, if you did't expect me to do much. I won't raise children and I won't cook dinner. And I like to be pampered. And I spend a lot of money, though I don't make any. But, maybe we can move in with Angielala, I don't think she'll mind)

I think (moreso hope) that a brain surgeon is smarter because that person has someone's life in their hands. (I realize of course that rocket scientists do as well, but they're geeks. (sorry if anyone feels offended or put down, but I have yet to see a good looking rocket scientist. They are always pushing pencils and calculating crap.) And I prefer a handsome brain so much more to science anyday, so I think that a person who performs surgery on a brain would be smarter than a person doing whatever it is they do at NASA with rockets and science with pocket protectors. However, if I do come across a good-looking rocket scientist, I may be inclined to change my opinion and go with the majority. I am rather indecisive, you know.

So, Tabitha, will you introduce me to this brain surgeon, or am I gonna have to find him on my own???

>But, maybe we can move in with Angielala, I don't think she'll mind)

*So you moving in with Angielala......I am the color of an Amazon frog by now.

*please be civil...just kidding...he-he :)

*Well I am relieved that this tense puzzle has been solved. I had a hard time sleeping last night.
ps (I hope you can reconsider the rocket scientist...that's what I do for a living.)

Though I'm so very glad to see your face turn many different colors (it actually brightened my day), you are the only person I wrote a love poem for. Now, hustle on over to Writing babble (Huh?? is that what it's called?) And your face will turn pink, as you blush with anti..ci..pa..tion... I think I stole that from someone who doesn't matter much, but I can't remember who :) (Of course I remember who, silly!!)

BTW, just so I'm not confused, are you flirting with me (not that I don't enjoy it, I encourage all attention)? Aren't you married? Must I go tell your hubby? Oh, the life of a homewrecker. I swear.... I'm accused and accused but it never gets old :) And IF you are a rocket scientist, how much do you make a year? Do you live comfortably? If so, can you take care of me, the way I should be taken care of? Could you pay off my student loans? And get my hair done? Will you be my sugar mommy? Now, I assure you I'm not cheap, but I may be easy :)

Well Poet, of course! It's still up in the air as to whom I'll be marrying though... Maybe I'll be married many, many times! Maybe your inner child can go through phases, such as 5 years old, 6 years old, ect. But, once your inner child reaches about 17, I'll have to call a halt to such activities. I'll only allow a certain number of piercings at my wedding..

If I ever run across that cute young brain surgeon again-- he's all mine, baby! I won't let you and your 24-yr-old C cups anywhere near him. Not that he'd be distracted. It was clearly ME he wanted.. but I was sadly with a date at the time..

Poet,
I have to admit, I shared the idea of an inner child asking to be flower girl with my T. He got a huge chuckle out of it, as I did when I first read it. (Before my own inner child got jealous...it's nice that you are willing to share!)

Of course, then he talked about my regressing, which he couched in terms that he thought wouldn't offend me. I actually think if I am regressing that is great! I like the really goofy me. Haven't seen her for way too long!

Thanks for the laughs,
gg

GG,

I'm glad your therapist got a laugh out of my inner child wanting to be a flower girl. I should have told my therapist: she wouldn't think it's regressing, she encourages me to dialog with my inner child. Unfortunately she wants me to talk about the painful stuff along with the funny. Where's my fairy wand, I need to wave it all away.

Hi y'all. I feel like the new kid on the block and having read so many posts from you I feel like I sorta kinda but not really know you. I will drive the limo for whoever it is that finally going to get married after all is said and done. In reply to Can I come?, posted by Tootercat on January 30, 2004, at 10:08:07

You can come if you bring a gift. And don't invite my mother. And of course you have to dress up. Don't worry, all the rules will be on the invitation. It'll be an open bar, but I'll be busy throwing up behind someone's car. I like to get drunk early, make a fool of myself, and end the evening throwing up behind someone's car. Could I use your limo? Just don't remind me of all the silly things I did at the wedding....Oh, speaking of silly wedding stories...Do I have one for you...
My boyfriend's parent's friends of the family were marrying off their son and they had a very large wedding. A much ado about nothing, but the family is pretty (how you say) affluent and I started getting drunk as I didn't know many people there. Well, I talk too much anyway, and (my boyfriend's family doesn't know that I'm dx with anything or in therapy or anything of the sort, they just think I like to have a good time. We keep things under wrap pretty well and I do a good job of behaving myself around them, as I don't see them all that often), [where was I]with liquor I talk even more... So, we ran into someone my boyfriend went to school with at the wedding who worked in the office where my therapist works (Oh no!!) and my boyfriend said, "Oh, yeah? Well Karen.." and I jabbed him with my elbow so he shut up. Then I got really drunk and puked in the parking lot behind his parents car while they watched. Oh, well...At least it was at night. I'm just glad I don't remember what that girl looks like from the wedding or I'd run screaming every time I see her at the office. But, I was also hitting on the waitress, and my boyfriend's brother, and who knows who else... I'm a horrible drunk :) So, who wants to come to the wedding? And who am I marrying again? I don't even care at this point. I just want some liquor.

Oh God do I have to hold your hair while you puke?? If so THAT's my gift....LOL. Actually you're gonna love this..I used to do all that lovely stuff too; sounded like a replay of my 20's. Now I've been sober 14 years (this Sunday)but don't worry I'm not a goody two shoes. Just don't ask me to supply the poison..ooops I mean booze. Or if ya wanna skip the wedding and come to a meeting with me.....oh shoot ...sorry..I just have so much fun I want everyone to join "my club"..hee hee. Now I wear the lampshade and remember it! I want rum in my punch at the reception. No kiddee cocktails for this flower girl.

As a bulimic I consider myself to be a vomiting professional. Always with dignity, no public displays. I would never do it in the limo, I'd stand up and do it out of the sun/moon roof.

brain surgeon vs rocket scientist » Karen_kay

In reply to So I have a question..., posted by Karen_kay on January 28, 2004, at 20:17:01

This question is far too vague to be answered. A 'rocket scientist' can work in many different areas of engineering/mathematics/astrophysics each requiring different levels of pure intelectual ability. The same is true of a 'brain surgeon' where there might be many different areas of work. To take one further step, I would argue that the 'theoreticians' in either field are more likely to possess enormous intellectual capacity.
I think to answer your question you have to decide which of the two could do the others job with the greatest ability. Personally, I would take a theoretical quantum physicist against a brain surgeon any day of the week. But thats just me.
