I can't take this weather. I had to carry some groceries in from the car and took my gloves off for not even one minute. My fingers got so cold, they actually felt as if they were bruised. I'm staying inside until Saturday, when it's supposed to be a balmy 30 degrees F.

Brrr! Sounds kinda miserable. I used to hate that feeling of when the hair in your nose freezes together. It's a fading memory.. now I live in a place where a cold day means I wish I'd worn socks with my sandals.

It's downright claustrophobic. On the bright side, if I can get my unmotivated buns out the door - and that's a big "if", the pond in the park should still be frozen enough to support skaters. I might be able to stand it for 15 minutes!

Yay! Ice skating on a pond in the park! They had that in my hometown during particularly cold winters. So much nicer than an indoor rink.

Hi Tabitha,
I'm seriously thinking about leaving this area. Last winter was terrible, with lots of snowstorms, and this winter has been so cold so far. I'd like to move to either California or the southwest in the next few years. I have relatives in both those places, and I love visiting them. I think the freezing cold adversely affects my mood even more than the lack of sun. Sandals with or without socks sound good to me!!

Hi Emme,
I like ice skating, but this weather feels too cold for that. Tomorrow it's going to HEAT UP to 20-30 degrees. That sounds more like ice skating weather. Do you like to watch figure skating on TV?

Bumpier, but nicer. We had a little Norman Rockwell thing happening with guys playing hocky, and little dogs following their owners around on the ice. Very cute.

Do you like to watch figure skating on TV?It was probably in the low teens when I went down there. Pretty nippy. My socks were too thick, so my toes got numb. Every once in a great while I catch the figure skating. I think Michelle Kwan is amazing. I took figure skating as a kid, but all I can do now is go forward and backwards. :)
