Happy Holidays?

Posted by Susan J on December 30, 2003, at 14:42:36

Hiya, guys.

Been on vacation and since I'm computerless at home, I haven't been reading. I hope everyone had a decent holiday at least. :-)

My mother called me lonely and my cousin said I'd given up having a husband and kids to be a *career girl.* Neither comment was taken well. :-)

Here's hoping EVERYONE has a great 2004, it's gotta be better than this, right??? :-)

A 'career girl'?? Wow, it sounds so 1940s screwball comedy. People can make such thoughtless comments.

Hi Susan!

Ouch!!! That's pretty mean.

I second that. Let's hope for some peace and good times.

May 2004 be better for us all!

Susan, your mother needs to learn the difference between being lonely and being alone. Tell your cousin that "I can't believe I forgot to have children" that works for me.

My sister, who I adore, saw me taking birth control pills, and asked "What are those?" *Funny note, her two lovely children were screaming in the background.* I replied birth control pills. She looked at me and said, "I thought by now you'd be taking fertility pills." For crying out loud, I'm only 24 years old! HELLO!!! When I returned home, my mother made the comment to my boyfriend, "Karen decided to double up on her birth control pills after spending 4 days with these kids." That's not a complete lie!
