I didn't until I read this! My stomach just went, "growwwwwwlll".
Ever as a child, make the unbelievable "find" in your Mom's cabinet? "Oh my God it's chocolate hidden here and I have found it! Now I will eat it..." and you unwrap the pretty block neatly packed in wax paper and...
AAAGHHHHHH baking chocolate!!!! Just not fair.

We have a Lindt store near here. Too near.
Way too near.
I'm tired of the women's magazines telling me that I can "still have chocolate" and maintain my weight by just keeping a little jar of Kisses by my desk and having just one once a day or so. See, you don't need to deprive your BODY!

Yeah, my bum
Hmm my bum's the problem. One of 'em anyway.

So yeah, could you grab me some? Milk or dark really...and even better if it's wrapped in foil. I think Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was the source of my foil attraction...

The Bakers Chocolate Tragedy!

Yes I remember that so well now, but I'd completely forgotten about it. The thing is I'm sure I must have done it more than once, maybe I was a sloooowwww child. Or, more hopefully I did it before I could read.

So I never had that experience. Perhaps I should be smiling?

I ended up settling for a Twix bar. There was nothing good in the vending machine. When I splurge I prefer 'good' chocolate - Godiva, Cadbury (the stuff from England, not the stuff made by Hershey's), Girardelli, and some others. There's a store here, A Southern Season, and they have imported candies from all over. Great wonderful wonderful place. I'm going to apply for a job there...

Course, I'll have to limit my spending and my eating! ha! But seriously, it is THE place to go for holiday goodies.

Did everyone enjoy their chocolate?

Your mom didn't bake, so you weren't scarred by the baking chocolate conspiracy? Hmm and here I thought perhaps I'd found the key to our anxiety.
You know the insecurity of never REALLY knowing what to expect in life. I guess I was wrong.

How goes it with the anxiety? Any relief?
I think its the most hideous symptom, I'd rather be sad any day. Mine is still driving me out of my mind. I can't stand waking up in the morning
and already feeling like I've been up all night
it just tears you up inside.

Gabbi,

Your sarcasm is *so funny*. I too was scarred for life by baker's chocolate. To this day I cannot eat dark chocolate. Only milk chocolate and white chocolate (which my wife, a famed chocoholic, says is fake) are palatable.

Then again, I do *love* licorice. I mean the *real* licorice, the black stuff with the bitter molasses flavor. Yummy. (Panda brand, from Finland).

Hello,
Welcome Back.
You were missed.

I love the Panda brand licorice too, no one else I know does, but I knew someone else had to be buying it.

Really good to see your name again : )

Nose wrinkle.

My grandpa loved to treat all the grandkids with licorice. I never could figure out what I was supposed to do with it, because eating couldn't have possibly been the treat he was intending. I ended up with quite a collection before my mother discovered my cache (in the bathroom linen closet).
