boxing gloves n cat o' nine tail

Posted by slinky on July 25, 2003, at 19:53:11

beating myself up.
in the trapped void.
depression nah, that word doesn't describe this self torture.
well at leat i'm getting angry--that's a good sign.
Civil though eh?
I awoke today in a panic attack..been crying all day.
I wanted out into nothingness..I'm chicken scared that there's life after death just like the nightmares I want the nothing..my feeble energy digested back into the vast universe.
Life is supposed to be hard but I'm as weak as a chair made from string.

I think it would help if someone who was going through the same pain to talk to we'd probably whine--but that's ok--but i need it to be real -live-not through this web.
Feeling alone , misunderstood. Need to feel to take life not too seriously but it's so hard to peep over the edge.
Knowing it passes doesn't help..cause I' not getting much of a break from this zone anymore.
I get tolerence so quickly to meds...even my vitamins..I've started to get bad PMT..don't know why.
Sorry I'm moaning being self indulgent in this state.

Seems there are no answers no quick fix.
Just have to sit through it.
I called someone but it's conformation that things are crappy .
I'm sleeping most of the time I can't hold a conversation cause i'm brain dead.
Last night i was fine..watched tv without it freaking me..programme about quantum physics.
Sleep does something to me..my dreams mess me up..i'm tired after, then sleep again and it's a viscious cycle.
i'm not comfy in my body.

Can you look for a depression support group nearby? That way you would have real live people to talk to. I know that my group doesn't expect everyone to talk in complete sentances. Ask your pdoc, therapist, local hospital, newspaper if there is group nearby.

I wish you could feel better

Hey, Slinky,
I'm sorry the phone call confirmed that things are crappy, I think thats the lonliest feeling in the world, especially if its about a romantic relationship and you're hoping the rejection you're sensing might be in your head. You finally can't stand the anxiety and call, only to find out that it wasn't just in your head.

Awww Crap.

I remember when I used to enjoy things other than being in love, but I can't seem to find anything
interesting anymore. Right now I'm watching
Debbie Travis ruin a perfectly beautiful old house, with kind of a morbid curiosity.

I'm really sorry Slinky, I guess you got your alloted happy hours all used up the other day.
I got mine in March :(

the last part of that post sounded so flippant,
about your happy hours being used up. It wasn't meant to, it was sort of an 'I'm resigned to this" kind of comment. It sounded really harsh when I read it again though.

Will you marry me slinky? you have the Cat o nine Tails and I have the ring ;)

Slinky, sorry you are in such distress. I have been in similar straits--it felt intolerable, I remember.

Hold on. And indulge all you want--your writing is beautiful.

I didn't think it flippant..actually i'm so brain dead I don't get things.
the relationship is helpful in other ways but i don't blame someone not getting involved with me..because of my misery mmoods...can't even stroke my cat. No pleasure just feel like being spaced out and thoughtless.
i 've got no interest in things i haven't been out socially in years and don't miss it.I just go the stores if i feel like it.

I'd have to complete my sex change to marry you :-)

That was until they inevitibly got tangled into a mess of steel rings that you couldn't untangle.
they were cool though. I think they still make them.

Everyone loves a slinky even when she's sad.

Slinky,

Your lack of energy makes me wonder if something in addition to depression is going on. It reminds me of how I was before my hypothyroidism was diagnosed.

Noa..

It has been suggested I take a hormone, forgot the name but doc said it would give energy.
I had thyroid checked ages ago it was normal but doc suggested I had another test.

Yep, teh doc's suggestion to get retested is a good one. With thyroid, it can change, first of all.

And, the idea of "normal" is controversial--what many docs and labs consider normal is not really normal for everyone. Besides, just last year, they changed the standard for what is considered normal TSH (the most common test).

For more info, see:

Take care.
