I agree. I have always thought dreams can give us forewarning at times.

Sorry to hear about your tooth. I hate Dentists. Not personally, of course, but anyone who is willing to stick their entire hand into my mouth has to understand if it hurts, I will bite.

At least I give fair warning.

Back when I used to dream, I dreamed that I ground my teeth to small bits and spent the rest of the dream spitting out bits while I did whatever the dream was about.

I don't really dream any more. No wonder I have no idea what is going on.

when pregnant
your body produces a hormone that lossen up your bones and joints to prepare for growth and birth,
affecting even your teeth,
i always dreamed my teeth were falling out when i was forming a baby,
mabe playing around with all these mind altering meds? or man made hormones in birth control or thyroid medication .....who know what we are doing to our bodies and how it "really" connects to out brains...

Geez, that's VERY strange. I went to the dentist for the first time in 15 years on Feb. 5th. (I have hard enamel :) Anyhow, yesterday morning I woke with nasty left jaw pain (I think from Wellbutrin jaw-grinding). I am just now able to chew food without pain (24 hrs later). It was really painful yesterday! Is it a coincidence, a premonition? BTW, I'm serious.

Believe it or not, one of my friends told me she was continually having dreams about loosing her teeth in one way or another. She would wake up terrified.

She finally looked it up in several dream interpretation books and the message was the same in each.

*When you dream of losing teeth, it is your subconcience telling you that you are having problems articulating what you are feeling.*

So, what I know of you and your past, did those dreams come when you were having problems in therapy or frustrated with your parents not understanding you?

Humm... Welcome to my couch. I work cheap.

I dreamt I had gotten drunk and woke up with tattoos all over my arms and stomach. I was looking in the mirror, horrified, trying to figure out how to live with the tattoos. Some of them were crude and badly spaced, pictures of fruit like in a children's coloring book.

Then I really woke up and was so glad I didn't have tattoos.

I'm busy planning my next (4th) tattoo.. I want a small, asian style, dragon over the base of my spine... the bit that show when you sit down and you t-shirt rises up and bit and your trousers go down a bit...

But I don;t want anxiety dreams *anymore*... all my dreams seem to be pulling all the things that frighten me and playing them out for me.. I know this sounds stupid, but I dream of my husband cheating on me so much of the time. Often I;m trying to get him to come back to me, and nearly every time he does, only to throw me away again... and all the other secret little fears I have milling around me all day.. I *hate* sleeping these days!

Hmmm. They started when I got married (and started being a grownup) and continuted until the meds largely removed my dreams. I think they were because I was grinding my teeth in my sleep.

I think during the same time period I also frequently dreamed I was missing a plane.

Cant say that Ive ever had a dream about my teeth that I've remembered, But my Sis once had this dream that she was munching on croutons (think that how you spell it!) and got one stuck in her throat, when she woke up her filling had come out, and she felt it was stuck in her throat!!!!!!

That's strange. I have had a recuring dream over the years that my teeth were falling out. I guess they will one day, but just think how much I'll save on toothpaste and brushes. Plus, and extra 5 minutes free time per day. Whoo hoooo!

They mean something. I can't remember what. There are different interpretations, too, depending on whether your teeth are loose, you're spitting them, or whatever. Anybody have a dream book?

Although Dreamerz' was clearly a premonition dream (or a great coincidence or a self-fulfilling prophecy!), I think everybody has teeth dreams. I often have them. I lose my tooth or a filling or a crown long after dental hours (late at night or on the weekend), and my dad winds up driving me to his dentist (who isn't my dentist!) each time. He is always the one I call.

Reminds me, I need two crowns and two fillings. I can't even chew on my left side anymore!

Nocturne

Did I have a dream?
Or did the dream have me?

Set off on a night-sea journey
Without memory or desire
Drifting through lost latitudes
With no compass and no chart

Flying through hallucination
Distant voices, signal fires
Lighting up my unconscious
And the secret places of the heart

Dream - temporary madness
Dream - a voice in the wilderness
Dream - unconscious revelations
The morning says, the answer is yes

Floating through a darkened mirror
Deep reflections in disguise
Soaring through lost altitudes
Without wonder, without fear

Symbols on a field of visions
Behind the curtain of sleeping eyes
On the instant of waking
Another world of dreams appears

Dream - temporary madness
Dream - a walk in the wilderness
Dream - unconscious recreation
The morning says the answer is yes

Hi Dinah -

I've had the same dream, exactly, many times! Do you know if there's some sort of meaning to dreaming about crumbling teeth?

Shalom, Dena

I think it just means I grind my teeth in my sleep. I actually do have a little chip off one top tooth that fits perfectly with one bottom tooth if I smush my face to the side as in sleep.

Hi Dena..

I was told today that it's signifies a change.
Well since my tooth crumbled my mood changed :-)

Hi Dr. Eamerz -

Thanks for your interpretation. It sounds like it's true - I have that dream pretty frequently, & my life is certainly full of changes! I think I'm going to do a bit of research & see what I come up with. I'll share it if it sounds interesting.

Shalom, Dena
