*swears alot*

Posted by NikkiT2 on March 5, 2003, at 15:47:50

I've had a vague aching face all day today, and then suddenly, about 6pm, my bloody ear has errupted in a incredibly painful ear infection again. The whole side of my face is utterly killing me, right into my jaw bone (as happen with my ear infections)...

Thing is, I acted pathetic on saturday and took all the pain killers in the house. Now I have none to take for this pain... f**k, f**k, F**K!!

And I know from experience its gonna get alot worse yet *sighs*

No, I;m not on amood stabiliser.. I have glue ear and tahst whats causing all these infections.. I'm on a waiting list to get a tube inserted, but the waiting lists over here (In the UK) are sooo long, I'm looking at about a year before I can get it done.

Got a docs appointment for tomorrow, for some more anti biotics.. which then means I get thrush.. grrrrr!!!

I just hate ear infections!!

Nikki
when you start the antibiotics, start taking lactobacillus acidophilus too, you can get it at the health food shop or the pharmacy. It will help keep the thrush from happening.
I'm sorry about your ear and the pain that always comes with it. I hope this infection clears up quickly.
hugs

HI Tina.. thanks for the message..

I have started eating a yoghurt each day that contains all those bacteria for your gut... that was after my last dose of oral thrush (which was quite horrid!).
My father in law takes acidophilus.. I'll have to hunt some out at health food place (which luckily is next door to the docs surgery!!)

Yoghurt just doesn't have enough in it Nik and the milk content can sometimes cause ear infections. Taking the pills would help more. I hope you feel better soon.
lots of hugs your way

Ouch, ouch ouch. I'm sorry Nikki. Tylenol helps a bit. Can't your doctor call in a prescription for antibiotics till you see him?

Take care.

Just want to add a couple of hugs to your misery. Hopefully that will cancel out some of the pain. Don't forget the Tylenol. That should help with some of the pain. Hugs, Hugs, and more hugs.

Just for normal health yogurt is OK.
But on antibiotics you need the higher concentrations of a pill form of acidophilus.

No, no asthma meds... just my "mad" meds!!

I do currently have a nasal spray that the doc gave me to try and clear up the glue ear (on the idea that a nasal spray will get behind my ear drum and clear it up).

This has been going on for about 3 years now.. ear infections every few months. The doc, last time I saw him, said I have glue ear and that could be causing the recurrent infections. I say the glue is caused by the infections.. we'll see!!

Just so annoying when they do happen :(

Well, when you mentioned thrush, I was wondering if you are on any kind of steroid, cuz I think it is one of the risks of steroid inhalers.

I just seem to get thrush at random times.. and always after taking anti-biotics..

But do seem to be keeping it at bay with the yoghurts, and now the acidophilus (sp!).

Though my mum freaked when she found out I had oral thrush.. she got all snooty and "what have you been up tot ehn" (I'm a married women too!!).. she just won't accept that thrush has not been sexually transmitted every time I get it!!! Damned mothers!
