Psycho Kitty

My cat has been psycho lately. Waking me up at 3, 4, 5am every frigging morning POUNCING on the bed. I throw her off, she jumps back on and POUNCE POUNCE POUNCES. Finally I can't get back to sleep and she just stares up at me, blinking innocently like, "Who...me? I'm just your little fluffy white purring Turkish Angora kitty cat. You love me." And I do.

Take yourself and your cats outside for a walk. Outside rules reign when the salmon terror refrains.

Run run run run run run run away...

I wouldn't mind living in my cats' dimension every now and then. Everything is cause for a nap (OK maybe that's not so different from now).

And catnip is legal.

It's one of those threads I can't resist joining - more cat talk.

I've always wanted to be a cat - long sexy whiskers, soft fur, & that beautiful swishing tail! I want to dress up some day with cat ears attached, whiskers, a long tail & go shopping. Do you think they'd put me away if I tried it? I get enough funny stares for wearing my plaid jammy bottoms & sandals in winter.

I figure the life of a beloved kitty would be ideal but then it occured to me I wouldn't be provided toilet paper & I don't think I'd care to clean my own bottom. And if I was expected to catch & eat small furry things, they can forget it.

I just did this last night! I know this doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but I was crying so hard that I fell against a wall in the dining room and somehow ended up on my stomach on the hardwood floor, which felt very cool and of course firm, but soothing. I cried and cried, and my cat came and curled up next to me as if we did this all the time. Finally I calmed down (barely). I looked at my body sprawled and wondered if this is what I'd look like dead.

Has anyone ever taken note of not only how our cats love us and visa versa and we come to another in times of need and despair. Here is the real irony though: we seek them out to make them feel well as they do us but we want them to get better. They too want us to be well, but I think they are torn between that and loving us at home with illness all the time for constant attention and entertainment.

oh, ps. They sell catnip tea at the health food store near me (kinda tastes like chamommile)and Aurora and I will each have a bag some nights. Mine in hot water with honey and hers torn open and tossed all over the room...lol

I'd just like to plug the double double quotes feature:

But I don't mean to be pushy. Did you deliberately not use it to link to Amazon? If so, I'd be interested in why, over at Psycho-Babble Administration:

I just said that last night to my (boyfriend...?)...I thought mine was the only kitty who needed an entire king sized bed to herself. But actually she edges her human around conveniently for warmth and leverage--until I have about six inches of bed for myself. My (boyfriend...?) snores so loudly he has to sleep in the other room at the moment. And his snoring wakes me up from there! Of course I have to leave the door ajar so the kitty can come in and disturb me whenever whe wants. Who made that cyber kitty--that was the best cyber face yet!!

That cybercat thingie?

My Medusa doesn't try to edge me out of bed - she thinks I'm the bed. She insists on sleeping on my chest with her head just touching my chin. This morning I woke sleeping on my side. I could hear a thump-thump, thump-thump. She was sleeping on my head! I guess her full weight wasn't on me as it wasn't uncomfortable & her little heart was beating in my ear. This is the first time she's done this - silly girl.

Tony (& any one else), if you have valerian capsules, see if your kitty likes the smell. Most cats love valerian root too. Gets them as excited as catnip does. I bought some just for my kitties & sprinkle it about the floor for them.

Hey jyl...

Your answer made me cry, but in a good way, because it touched me. You are such a good soul. Don't worry though, I have detailed contingency plans for my cats in case "something should happen". I would never ever leave them uncared for or hungry. At this point in time, I am extremely isolated and my cats are my best buddies. Always will be -- I trust animals far more than people. I hope you can cry soon, but in the meantime I can howl for us both and really scare the neighbors!
