Analyze That

Posted by BekkaH on November 20, 2002, at 23:10:25

I hear that the sequel to ANALYZE THIS will be in movie theaters in a few weeks. The title is ANALYZE THAT. Robert DeNiro and Billy Crystal are in it again. ANALYZE THIS was very funny. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it. Comedies are excellent antidotes to depression, and there are no adverse effects.

I saw Analyze This for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I agree that it was extremely funny. The movie did leave me wondering though about what my psychiatrist actually thinks when I sit there telling him about my problems.

On the topic of therapeutic movies (laughter being the best medicine)... for those of you who suffer from any form of anxiety or depression I would highly recommend the movie "Bandits" with Cate Blanchett, Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thornton. Cate Blanchett plays a depressed housewife and Billy Bob Thornton is absolutely hilarious as a hypochondriac bank robber suffering from a pretty serious anxiety disorder.

Hi. Thanks for mentioning BANDITS. I'll look for it. By the way, ANALYZE THAT will be released December 6th.

I live in Australia so I don't know whether ANALYZE THAT comes out on December 6 here but I'll keep my eyes open for it.

One other movie I'm really looking forward to is LORD OF THE RINGS:THE TWO TOWERS which comes out on Boxing Day in Australia.

In Australia the day after Christmas (ie 26 December) is known as Boxing Day.

Here is a link that gives a short explanation of the origin of this term.

So many good films coming out at the moment.. Lord Of The Rings is th eone I am *so* waiting for... so many utterly beautiful men in it (Strider *sighs*, legolas *bigger sighs*, and those eyes on Frodo!). Watched the first one twice this weekend (bougth my hubby the coolectors edition DVD which has 30 mins of extra footage added back in!), saw it at the cinema 4 times when it came out, and have watched the original DVD quite a number of times!!! And read the books at least 5 times (twice in past year!!)*bounces* YAY!!! My lucky lucky friend is going to the New Zealand premier (HUGE street party with it) as her uncle is one of the Executive Producers and she's back in NZ for 3 weeks!!! how lucky is she!!!

You forgot to mention the women!!!!! (especially the elven women......Arwen and Galadriel set the pulse racing - absolutely gorgeous)

Good to see I'm not the only one obsessed by the series. There is an addictive quality to it. I happen to be a science fiction/fantasy freak and my library at home mostly consists of books by authors of the ilk of Feist, Eddings and Jordan.

Unfortunately it's sad but true :( . I WILL have to wait until 26 December. You will probably have seen it at LEAST 3 times by then and I'm jealous. You can let me know what you think. :)

I'm pretty sure that Analyze That come out in December here.....I've already seen the adds for it on TV.

Hi Nikki,

I hope you enjoy the movie. I must mention that I've seen ANALYZE THIS both on video and on regular TV (NOT cable TV) here in the U.S., and I noticed that when it was broadcast on one of the networks on regular TV, they had censored and cut out many lines and scenes from the original version. I hope you get to see the full, un-cut version. I don't know whether the censors are as busy in the U.K. as they are here. In the U.S., it's best to either rent the video or see a movie on cable.

Anyway, I think you'll be amused!

We have Boxing Day in Canada. I'd be interested to hear which other countries celebrate "Boxing Day". Most people here get it as a holiday.

I have read and re-read the trilogy so many times in my life. I have it in soft and hard bound. I have yet to see, "Fellowship of the Ring" for fear it will blow the imagery I already have. My step-daughter told me that the movie is so close to the book(s). What is your take on this? Thanks.
