Being sick by yourself

Posted by ShelliR on November 16, 2002, at 12:58:47

I'm feeling really really sick. Decided to go off of methadone AND I got an ulcer. This is when it is so crummy to be single--to debate how much help I can ask from my small list of good friends where I live. Then yesterday my basement bathroom filled up with sludge--something must have gotten stuck (and luckily then unstuck) in my sewer line.

Life sticks.

I want a husband or I want a wife. Either is acceptable.

Good luck kickin' the juice, you'll be okay soon enough. Just post here if you get lonely.

Hang in there!

It's awful being sick & alone. Scarey. I hope you're feeling better realy soon & I suspect that your friends will be glad to help you...even if it's just to 'keep you company' for a while on the phone.

Best of luck, Kath xoxo

I'm right there at the moment too. I live alone, being only 21 and the weekend all my friends are out partying and so couldn't care less about coming to help me. I haven't eaten in a couple of days because I don't have any food, I don't have any money to buy food, and I can't keep food down at the moment anyway. my parents and any close relatives live over 2 hours away.

blah blah blah. off to be sick again...

i'm sorry i haven't got anything better to say, shelli. misery loves company. i hope you are feeling better soon.

Thanks all for the support.

Rach--please call one of your friends and ask for
help. If you can't even keep liquids down, you're going to get dehydrated. (Sometimes 21 years olds are so used to getting taken care of, they don't even realize a sick person alone needs help)

I just bet both your friends and Rach's would be happy to help you if you just asked. I always hate asking for favors but I'm the first in to help- my friends are always yelling at me when they find out I needed help (and didn't ask). sorry to ramble, hope you both are feeling better soon. Shelli- what's the half-life of methadone? When I got off ms contin- it hit me hard on day 3, by day 5 (with a lot of xanax), I was feeling much better. This was after a taper (so I wouldn't have seizures), then the big stop. take care, judy
