How's Tina doing? Shouldn't she be back by now??

Posted by SandraDee on September 9, 2002, at 9:20:20

I asked about her a while ago, and someone replied she'd be away for a couple of days, it's been a week or more.... anyone know anything?

Thanks for thinking of me » SandraDee

Still scraping the bottom of the abyss, stuck in the muck that accumulates down here.
I don't feel anything but bad anymore. Wish i had something better to say.

I have had you and Gabbi on my mind especially lately. I don't come to PSB much anymore... I don't even lurk anymore, and for some reason again today I thought "hmm... I wonder if Tina is back and how Gabbi is hanging on". I also think about Dreamer and her living situation. I can't seem to completely disconnect from this site, as I have you all in my minds and heart. (sorry I wasn't going for "sappy" just got there somehow)
Sending you all well wishes. Sorry for those I left out... just that these 3 ladies seem to be on my mind more often. Not to say I don't think about Dinah, Tabitha, and the whole dang lot of you. hahaha

I'm flip-flopping.... but mostly doing good. I sort of am like Beardy - I don't have OCD, I am not in any pit, I don't have ADD or ADHD, or anything like that. I had a stressful time with buying a house that I couldn't move into for 3 months (owners couldn't find a place they wanted to move to)... then having two kids under 3 - it was just too much (and I don't even 'work'). So they called it post-partum depression and anxiety and put me on Effexor XR. When I moved, I ran out the day we moved (was only on the trial pack) I never got it refilled... went cold turkey. No major side effects but I was only on 75mg/day. A bit of tingling and stuff, but keep in mind I was on it a VERY short time. I still have my days. And I think even "normal" people think of suicide occasionally when they have crappy days/weeks or even years. I don't think about suicide - I have two beautiful children that I love, and although I don't feel like I make the mom of the year - I can't imagine them going through life motherless. I have a hobby - and that helps. I scrapbook. Doesn't make me any better of a mother than those that dont - but I enjoy it and my daughter loves to look at herself and friends. I even became a consulant (selling the stuff). I love it so far. I teach people the importance of preserving those memories, and how to scrapbook. My 3 yr old can do it - so I know anyone can. I even got my husband hooked - he's doing his racing pictures (off road and drag racing - and his volunteer fire pics too!).
Okay, so you didn't ask for a book - but you did ask... hahaha
Gabbi has my email addy if you ever need to talk - away from PSB. I haven't posted it on here - but there are a few people that know how to get ahold of me if needed.

Good to hear from you too, SandraDee. Glad to know you're doing OK.

Scrapbooking sounds like a fun hobby. My pics are all disorganized and piled in boxes away where I never see them.

When I'm invited to a friend's bday party or something I'm the one snapping pictures thinking they aren't taking enough. I'm often called the "camera lady" or "picture lady". I get doubles (sometimes triples) of my pics to give to them and even the kids' grandparents.
Start with at least getting them organized/labeled. (that's if you are interested) Actually they are better in boxes than unsafe albums (those magnetic page kind). :) I'd post the website, but I don't want to get my fingers slapped. :)

If you are talking about those photo books where the vellum sticks to the photo and itself, they are highly acidic and eventually, will destroy the photos. Trying looking for albums that are archival in quality and in the very least, acid free. Photos break down eventually due to the chemicals used in the developing process, but we're talking years later...

Many of those sticky page kind are not acid-free and lignin free. Better yet, buffered. Lignin is natural stuff in tree pulp (paper) that causes pictures to deteriorate faster than normal - as Jan pointed out they still last many years - they can cause yellowing in as little as 10 years, and some of them have sooo much acid that they cause limbs to disappear. The magnetic pages are those ones that have a clear sheet (most often not PVC free - yea another term!) that covers the pictures that you attach to the sticky gluey sheet below.
Back to PSB issue - I've found it theraputic to go through old pictures (I keep fairly current by doing them regularly) It's fun to go back to my highschool album and the albums while my husband and I were dating. Obviously the looking at the baby pictures of my kids is fun too and my oldest is only 3. It's a hobby that I consider theraputic. :) Let me know when you want to start attacking those boxes of pictures, Tabitha! hahahahaha

Uh-oh, I think I have one of those sticky page albums, but it's about 20 yrs old already, so I guess I'd better check to see how it's held up.
