Changing who I am

Posted by Kristi on December 10, 2001, at 23:30:09

It's a goal of mine, altho maybe not a realistic one. We are who we are. However, we do have some room to change I believe.
I had a makeover today. I look like a completely different person. Looking like a different person is going to enable be to be a different person. Yeah right. That is a joke guys...... but I needed a change. Boredom has some to do with depression. I went from a blonde to really really dark hair. I love it tho, it looks thicker and healthy. Ya ever notice how people with really dark hair just look healthy? I think the lighter the hair, the more the "dryness" or whatnot stand out.
I'm dreading walking into work tomarrow. I hate being the center of attention and I know I'll hear a ton of comments. But I did it for me and that's what matters right????????

yes! :) (nm)

of course, babydoll! you may be the center of attention but it could be alot of fun, lots of compliments and such...

every few years i used to get really short haircuts, thinking they would be all cute and gamine, and then they'd make me feel completely down! i think that (especially for women) our physical appearance does have a bearing (from slight to very strong) on our moods.

but you know changing who you are has nothing to do with hair color etc, right? and why would you want to change who you ARE? nnononononononono! :)
i'd miss you if you changed who you *are*...why not focus on some habits or goals, just one at a time? what are the habits you'd like to get rid of (and Jah (God, not L) forgive me for saying this, 'cos i hate it when someone asks me this) and what are your goals?

love,
sar

Maybe she means she would like to "evolve" who she are or is!!!! Thats natural and a good thing I think. Evolution and growth are important to people.

And Kristi dont worry about it at work, theyll get over it and move on with thier lives! :)

I do it too. When I'm really depressed and hating who I am, I go get a haircut. It's amazing what it does for a person. My appearance is directly related to my depression. For me, it's always been an issue of how others perceive me. I'm always trying to guess what others are thinking about me. Paranoia? Perhaps. But it's from a mother who always made me feel like I was being stared at and made me believe I would be ridiculed if I behaved in a certain way in public....hence my anxiety disorder. Wish I could make all THAT go away with a make-over.

Good for you Kristi,
Feel good about yourself! You go girl!!
And I'm with sar, don't change who you are. I like ya!

Good move, Kristi.

Want to CHANGE WHO YOU ARE on a deeper level??? Read The Seat of the Soul, but Gary Zukav. Being beautiful on the outside is a worthy goal and does much to enhance your sense of your self.

My 93 yr. old Mother-in-law usta say, "Beauty is only skin deep; Ugly is to the bone. Beauty soon fades away; Ugly holds its own." At 93 she was truly beautiful, but it was from the INSIDE OUT.

The Seat of the Soul offers a Truth about yourself that is explained in simple terms. It COULD lead you realize the "true you" that walks in the LIGHT of the Spirit within.

Do you believe that you HAVE a Soul? If not, I apologize for "buggin'" you. If SO, you gotta read what Zukav can tell you about it. What did Christ mean when he said, "The Kingdom of God is within."? (King James version) Is the "Kingdom of God" HEAVEN? Is it in the here and the now? ...and not some place where we hope to go when we DIE, if we watch our P's and Q's?
