Oprah again

Posted by S. Howard on November 15, 2000, at 16:34:14

I can't believe this...I'm sitting here watching Oprah and I'm CRYING. Does that mean I'm f***** up or what?
Luckily, my SWH (sometimes WH) is still at work because he would walk in here and go, "What Now??" and I would say, "Nothing!!" We have an open relationship like that. Well must be time for a seroquel.

If that is what it means, I'm every bit as messed up. I cry at any little sappy thing on TV (this is new for me). My husband thinks I'm losing it (he could be right!). I try to avoid him when it happens; I feel stupid enough without getting "the look".

I REFUSE to let myself be emotionally rattled or ball my eyes out at ANY Oprah show!

It was a show about learning to forgive yourself, listen to this story: a mother is driving along with her 6-year-old safely buckled into the back seat. She stops at a convenience store and runs in to get something to drink. She leaves the kid in the car and the keys in the ignition. A carjacker comes along right at that minute and hops into her car. The mother sees him and runs out of the store, gets the back door open and tries to drag her son out, but he's still buckled in with the safety belt. The carjacker takes off and the back door swings shut, leaving the little boy trapped outside the car, twisted up in the seat belt; the child is dragged along the road to his death.
I haven't cried that much (over a stranger) since Diana's funeral!
