I wanted ya'll to know that I haven't deserted this place. I just haven't been able to 'get' here for several days. Don't know if the problem was on my end or Psycho-Babble's, but something would not let me access the site.
Anyway, I'm glad to be back!

Our kitten continues to be very sweet. We named her Lilith, but NOT after the 'Cheers' character. I vaguely remember a reference to a 'Lilith' in biblical context, anyone know it?
Right now she is perched on my shoulder, staring at the screen, as if she is trying to decide if it would be possible to pounce on the moving letters, while I type!
She does all the funny little kitten things, and is very good natured with out 2 yr old daughter.

CA - I've heard many stories about kittens and computers; glad Lilith is fitting right in. Evidently, they are quite comfortable around the monitors, and taking strolls across the keyboard. At least if your typing stops making sense we'll probably think it is Lilith and not you. (Oh, and watch your mouse!!) 8-)
Eoxmentkis,

Shar - Yup, strange world, huh.
Check out http://www.webcom.com/~gnosis/lillith.html
It's kind of a quick overview. You can get all kinds of hits typing lillith into http://google.com

But when you're done, go to The Straight Dope and read up about it there...
There's a story that Lilith was Adam's first wife, but there are also stories that there was no first wife, etc. The creation stories get merged, like the Hungarian story: Once Adam and Eve had three sons who needed wives, God created them: one from a pig, one from a wolf, and one from that extra rib Eve had. The first was sweet and affectionate, but messy. The second was neat as a pin, but mean. The last was sweet and clean.
That's one story, familiar, but different. The Lilith one is similar, probably blending from one culture or another.
Still, kinda an interesting story, eh?

Lilith was Adam's first wife, according to legends associated with the Biblical text, not according to the Biblical text itself.

Racer explained it well--lots of creation myths floating around the ancient world, and different versions abound.
